  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

After reading so many trades in this forum and after buying a 12 gauge shotgun it makes me feel like I have a defective and ineffective toy in my hands. the more I read this forum the more I realize that everything is ineffective because probably suicide is impossible. and it is not impossible only with the 12 gauge it seems to be impossible with any method. This is the perception I have. The perception of a sentence to live, where even to pull a trigger you need to have a degree.

i understand. i suspect i have some mild form of OCD and creating the "perfect method" has caused me so much anxiety i couldn't think about anything else and felt trapped in my own body and mind. the middle ground i found for myself was that we, forum users, that put at least some thought and consideration into a method have far higher chances of succeeding than people who do it on an impulse without any prior knowledge outside of mainstream media. uncertainty is just a part of the risk taking that comes with anything in life, and that includes death.

Your reasoning is interesting. So according to you, the official statistics are not manipulated in the form of dissuasion? And if there were actually this manipulation, would it not influence the behavior of the forum users regarding the various methods? For you, this caution that simply derives from confused statistical data (perhaps on purpose) simply helps to lower the risk of failure. It makes me think that 70% of the world's population will die a painful death and the statistical average says that there will be about 60 days of intense suffering for each person if we wanted to distribute this statistical data equally, exactly as we do with the probabilities regarding the success or failure of a shot to the head. With the difference that one data is emphasized while the other is strongly minimized or even silenced by the mainstream media. I think about it.

I can understand that but for me is the contrary you see before i attempted ctb i didn't knew of this forum and i choosed to jump from a balcony of 15 m thats a low height with good chances of survival because for the naked eye it looks enough to die and sure i was an inch from death but if knew it had to be several meters taller to ensure death i wouldn't be writting this

Keep in mind those who succeed will not be here to tell you of their mistakes in their method.

Every method will feel impossible if you ask their survivors. But there are much more survivors of OD rather than a shotgun, however.

All you need is enough self loathing, and a will to attempt. Atleast that's how i feel

I am not expert in guns but I suggest to shoot to brains, not to chin.
I've seen failed attempts because many people point to their chin and not head

The statistics say otherwise, using a firearm has a higher than 80% chance of success, just learn how to use it properly and why you try to ctb do it without anything that damages your cognitive functions (like being drunk or high) and you would most likely succeed. Even if after learning how to use it properly you feel that you need to be more sure, read academic material and case studies about failed firearm suicide attempts, if you don't mind the graphic content there are tons of elucidating material as to why it sometimes fail.

People that fail with guns usually basically "only" blow their faces off. That's actually very surviable. Your eyes, nose, lower jaw etc. are not important for immediate survival per se, nor will you die quickly if you injure them like that. The pain and suffering for many survivors of this method apparently gurantees that they seek the help of emergency services. I even read stories in which people who shot themselves like that drove themselves to the hospital. The disfiguring injuries, the guranteed disability and the fallout can be considerate.

I understand feeling trapped in this existence, I wish there's the option to just simply cease existing in peace and never suffer ever again, I see so much cruelty in how I cannot just have that option.

Yeah fr. How does anyone ever manage to kill themselves if every single method apparently has such a high chance of failure? Fuck why can't there just be an instant painless death button?

A shotgun, used in the right way, is one of the most foolproof ways to ctb. But don't put it under your chin pointing upwards. I'm reluctant to give you explicit iinstructions on how to do it, but there is lots of relevant information on this site. You could start here

Why do you want to ctb? (I can't read your old posts, because the settings on your profile don't allow me to find them.)
