How true is this? I think it is a bit true in fairness. Firstly, they give you SSRI's (which I know work for some people) but in general have been proven to be ineffective. I mean think about this, a drug that takes a month to work probably has a large "placebo" component given that every single drug has almost immediate effects no matter how subtle: benzos, opiates, alcohol, cocaine etc...

And suicide prevention is the big one here. A lot of therapists acknowledge the unfairness of life while still maintaining an absolutist stand on suicide which tells you they don't care about your emotions.

Yes, it seems like the mental health system is just a huge racket that is pushed through pseudoscience and paraded around like some panacea. They just want to make money for big pharma and what not. Also, it is quite sad that when we speak out and try to expose their lies and share the truth about what really happens, we get censored as seen on reddit and other places around the Internet. Hell, we even get labelled mentally ill for speaking about the flawed system itself! Talk about a vicious cycle of condemnation and neverending bullshit! I regret wasting my time when I was in school to go to those therapists and counselors; as they only remind me of how shit life really is. Fuck the mental health system!

Was reading a story about a businessmsn who suffered withdrawal for SEVEN years due to psychiatric med toxicity. He was being prescribed drugs to treat the effects of the original drugs in an endless cycle. Horrifying.

Don't blame mental healthcare. Blame the lack of funding accountability, proper oversight, and the model it is shaped after.

Capitalism has shaped mental healthcare into a business. And taking care of suicidal people isn't profitable unless they come from a wealthy family.

Here in the United States ...... Corrupt politicians have completely defunded mental health care in places such as Austin, Texas ...... The actions of Mark Anthony Conditt (the Austin Bomber) and Cesar Sayoc Jr. (the Conservative Republican bomber) are the direct result of mental health care being defunded in the United States ...... The corrupt politicians who cut off mental health care to the poor and the uninsured middle class directly caused these two bombing sprees ...... Truth ...... This problem is going to get alot worse before it gets better.
