Thank you so much. Can you please tell us based what you have already researched the best way to test the purity or effectiveness of the SN. I have test stripes from water work which is for both nitrite and nitrate. Is it good?
I'd say look for test strips specifically for nitrite purity. It wouldn't do any good if it was for nitrate too.

Also, just know and trust the brands that have had a reliable purity in the past(such as IC)

Don't use the brand "Reagent Inc."! They sell nitrAte labeled as nitrite. So does the brand PC

Thanks. I have one from good source. Bought a month ago but my apartment is very hot all the time. Around 27 to 30 C. Wondering whether it is still good.

I think it would be fine as long it's sealed in an airtight container. I've read that nitrite decomposes at like temperatures of 300 C +. Otherwise it's pretty stable

Oh yeah, I was mostly hoping it would help with the anxiety
Could you just go to the doctor and say you have panic attacks and can't sleep? Maybe they'll prescribe a benzo

This is based on @jake3d 's write up, but aims to get results around the *middle* of the test range.
When we get results at the edge of the range, eg the max, it may leave us questioning the accuracy, eg was the true value higher than the max (eg due to a mistake with the test method), but can't be detected by the test kit.
When we get a result in the middle of the range we can feel more confident in what we're seeing.
We can also detect test method errors if we see results significantly higher than the middle, since that shouldn't be possible in a valid test.

Basic idea :
Deliberately create an SN solution whose concentration is in the middle of the test kit range, provided the SN is 100% purity, by dissolving a known amount of SN in a known volume of water.

e.g. If our kit tests up to 10mg/L, then create an SN solution of 5mg/L (assuming 100% SN purity), by placing 5mg of SN into 1 litre of water. If the kit shows around 5mg/L, then the SN must be almost 100% pure.

The numbers used below assume a kit that tests up to 10mg/L.
Modify the numbers based on the range of your test kit.

Equipment :
Kitchen scales that can measure to 0.1g accuracy (or better) for method 1, or to 1g accuracy for method 2
Aquarium test kit that tests up to 10mg/L nitrite.
Two 1 litre bottles of water ("bottles 1 and 2"). Ideally use distilled water, though I assume you could probably use regular mineral water, or maybe even tap water.
Syringe or pipette that can measure 5ml for method 1, or 0.5ml or 1.0ml for method 2
(though if you have a 1ml syringe or pipette then you could use it 5 times when the step requires 5ml to be extracted)

(note : If you don't use distilled water then you may want to separately test some water from the same source, without any SN added, to check the "baseline" level. You should see close to the minimum on the test range. You could still do this if using distilled water, to validate the test kit gives sensible results).

=======================================================================

Method 1 : Requires kitchen scales with 0.1g accuracy (or better)

Weigh out 1.0g of SN and dissolve it in bottle 1.
Put lid back on, shake *very* well.
Bottle 1 now contains 1.0g/L of SN

Use syringe to extract 5ml of liquid from bottle 2.
Squirt liquid away to discard it.
Syringe should now be empty.

Use syringe to extract 5ml of liquid from bottle 1.
The extracted liquid contains 5mg of SN.

Squirt extracted liquid into bottle 2.
Put lid back on, shake bottle 2 *very* well.
Bottle 2 now contains 5mg/L of SN.

Test liquid from bottle 2 using test kit.

If tests show around 5mg/L then the SN was close to 100% purity.
If tests show significantly higher than 5mg/L then the test has been wrongly performed or the test kit is faulty.
If tests show significantly less than 5mg/L then it suggests the SN is of lower purity and may be unsuitable.

Disposal : After testing, further dilute liquids while discarding, e.g. slowly pour liquid into stream of water from tap or from another bottle of water.
This applies particularly to bottle 1 (more concentrated).

After completing the test successfully, you may wish to do another which targets the upper end (maximum) of the test kit to measure the percentage purity of the SN more accurately (if you feel the need). If the values you used for the first test exactly targeted the middle of the test range, then you can simply double the ml amount that is transferred from bottle 1 to bottle 2, eg modify above steps, replacing 5ml (both instances) with 10ml (or you could double the SN amount in g, but that wastes SN for no real benefit).

=======================================================================

Method 2 : If your kitchen scales can only measure to 1g accuracy

This requires a syringe that can measure 0.5ml fairly accurately. If your syringe can measure 1ml accurately, but not 0.5ml, then modify steps, replacing 10g with 5g, and replacing 0.5ml (both instances) with 1ml, although this will be less accurate.

*Be careful* due to higher SN amounts. Ensure disposal steps (see above) followed.

Weigh out 10g of SN and dissolve it in bottle 1.
Put lid back on, shake *very* well.
Bottle 1 now contains 10g/L of SN

Use syringe to extract 0.5ml of liquid from bottle 2.
Squirt liquid away to discard it.
Syringe should now be empty.

Use syringe to extract 0.5ml of liquid from bottle 1.
The extracted liquid contains 5mg of SN.

For remaining steps, see method 1 (squirt extracted liquid into bottle 2, etc).

=======================================================================

ANOTHER EXAMPLE :
Test kit that measures 0.3 to 3.3 mg/L
We will aim to create a solution of 2 mg/L.

Method 1 : Requires kitchen scales with 0.1g accuracy (or better)

Weigh out 1.0g of SN and dissolve it in bottle 1.
Put lid back on, shake *very* well.
Bottle 1 now contains 1.0g/L of SN

Use syringe to extract 2ml of liquid from bottle 2.
Squirt liquid away to discard it.
Syringe should now be empty.

Use syringe to extract 2ml of liquid from bottle 1.
The extracted liquid contains 2mg of SN.

Squirt extracted liquid into bottle 2.
Put lid back on, shake bottle 2 *very* well.
Bottle 2 now contains 2mg/L of SN.

Test liquid from bottle 2 using test kit.

If tests show around 2mg/L then the SN was close to 100% purity.
If tests show significantly higher than 2mg/L then the test has been wrongly performed or the test kit is faulty.
If tests show significantly less than 2mg/L then it suggests the SN is of lower purity and may be unsuitable.

Follow disposal steps (see above)

=======================================================================

Method 2 : If your kitchen scales can only measure to 1g accuracy

This assumes a syringe that can measure 0.5ml fairly accurately. If your syringe can measure 0.25ml accurately, then modify steps, replacing 4g with 8g, and replacing 0.5ml (both instances) with 0.25ml, for better accuracy.

Weigh out 4g of SN and dissolve it in bottle 1.
Put lid back on, shake *very* well.
Bottle 1 now contains 4g/L of SN

Use syringe to extract 0.5ml of liquid from bottle 2.
Squirt liquid away to discard it.
Syringe should now be empty.

Use syringe to extract 0.5ml of liquid from bottle 1.
The extracted liquid contains 2mg of SN.

For remaining steps, see method 1 (squirt extracted liquid into bottle 2, etc).

If you use the propranolol, it will help with the fast heart rate, so I don't suppose it would hurt

Is aprazolam fine before SN? Hope it will not interfere. How much aprazolam would you recommend one takes if it will not negatively affect the SN process. Thanks.

Sorry if this post is so late. I've been busy losing my goddam mind this year and going in and out of dissociative states.

Anyway, I'd say depends on your tolerance of benzos. For example, if I take .25 mg of Xanax I'm like out in 30 minutes. But I know people who can take .5 mg and be just fine. You'll have to just test it to see what works for you

I've seen your posts and comments throughout my time here when I've searched anything related to SN. I appreciate what you've contributed. I will be taking benzos and beta-blockers which do interact to some degree but it'll work nonetheless.

The nitric oxide acts as a vasodilator and reduces blood pressure, and it also has a protective effect on the gastrointestinal tract and other organs by protecting biomolecules from oxidative events.
is why Beta-blocker potentiate SN because it does lower blood pressure after all and mix that with benzos and it may increase the sedative effect.

I've written a small essay of what that happens in our body when we ingest sodium nitrite. I will do my best to describe the pathology and biochemistry of methemoglobinemia and nitrite poisoning. This is from my own research and I will post the sources from scientific articles and journals. Hopefully this information will shed some light for the community and those who are considering SN as their method. It is a rough estimate of what to expect from the time it reaches our mouths to the time of death. I'm mostly doing this because I learn and process things by writing . By the way, I'm no scientist or biology major, so if you want, please take this all with a grain of salt 🧂 ( haha)

Upon mixing it with water and taking it orally, it reaches our stomach, where the stomach acid reduces some of the nitrite to nitric oxide, water, sodium chloride and nitrous acid. The nitric oxide acts as a vasodilator and reduces blood pressure, and it also has a protective effect on the gastrointestinal tract and other organs by protecting biomolecules from oxidative events. Nitric oxide reacts with oxygen to form nitrite and nitrate. Meanwhile, sodium nitrite is rapidly absorbed in the small intestine with a bioavailability of 92%. Nitrites react to oxygen to form oxygen-free radicals, which are powerful oxidizers of hemoglobin. It enters the bloodstream and is made available to other tissues. The oxygen free radicals oxidize the ferrous ion to a ferric ion, making it unable to carry oxygen. Furthermore, The methemoglobin results in a leftward shift of the oxygen dissociation curve, which causes hemoglobin to bind to oxygen more tightly and not release it to the peripheral tissues resulting in cellular hypoxia. This is where cyanosis and the beginning of lactic acidosis happens. At concentrations of 15%, patients may appear cyanotic and are typically asymptomatic.

Because of the leftward shift on the oxygen dissociation curve, and the body's ability to detect changes in the blood and tissue imbalance of O2 and CO2, shortness of breath may occur at methemoglobin levels of 30%. Arterial blood gas readings typically show normal oxygen levels due to the blood's increased oxygen affinity and failure of delivery to the tissues. The body's response to higher levels of lactate and low bicarbonate is to level out the pH of the blood and tissues by faster breathing. Signals are sent to the limbic system, which are sent to the lungs to breathe faster. It's similar to hyperventilating. Breathing can be described as fast and shallow. Methemoglobin is unable to carry oxygen nor carbon dioxide.
Therefore, cells need to rely on anaerobic respiration due to insufficient oxygen delivery. Anaerobic respiration relies on the breakdown of glucose and forms lactic acid in the process. Higher lactic acid and low bicarbonate leads to mild acidosis: weakness, fatigue, tachycardia, headache, nausea, loss of appetite, dizziness.

Likewise, heart rate increases from the changes of oxygenation and lactic acid amounts in the tissues. Lactate is fuel for the heart, the higher lactate levels, the higher heart rate. This is why propranolol is recommended. (Although not in new ppeh for some reason)

At 45%- 55% levels, lethargy and fainting generally occur due to insufficient oxygen delivery to the brain. However due to the nitric oxide produced in the stomach from the nitrite + stomach acid reaction, loss of consciousness might occur sooner from low blood pressure. Stomach acid is important for faster pass out time. This is why an acid reducer is no longer recommended.

Around 50% levels, cells can no longer run on anaerobic respiration as cellular glucose diminishes.
The ATP levels drop and the cell cannot perform its normal functions. At this point, the beginning of cell death occurs via apoptosis. Note this probably happens in the brain as well.

Around 70%, lactic acidosis has become very severe, Kussmaul breathing or rapid "deep and labored breathing" may occur. Furthermore, enough cell death has happened due to hypoxia where it is typical that overall death occurs.

But I read somewhere that acid in the stomach will reduce the absorption of SN in the small intestine by converting nitrite into azot. I'm so indecisive now - I already bought famotidine. I also read that the reaction of nitrite with hydrochloric acid is so aggressive that it even dissolves silver - I hope that I will not die as painfully as people who drank vinegar and their esophagus and stomach were damaged. There isn't much information outside of this forum about death from nitrite. I've read about several famous actors who died this way.

At best, there's only been a handful of celebrities, not several. There's plenty of information outside this forum related to death from nitrite, medical articles have been published regarding death from intentional sn ingestion.

You can obtain these results from poppers. It happened to me accidentally last year.

It can be reversed quite easily and quickly. I went from deaths door to recovered very quickly.

Methylene Blue is the reversing agent. It is a synthetic dye, some kind of a salt, that fixes the hemoglobin. I pissed blue for days afterward.

My experience was peaceful. It didn't hurt, I wasn't anxious. Just lethargic and quite blue. I looked terrible. The docs and nurses were freaking out though. Spent a day in the cardiac unit.

I have decided to go this route as poppers are so easily obtained. Any sex shop or head shop should sell them.

If it's nitrate then it's likely it will not work as intended you need nitrite
