Say I am Ready to Exit (sayire) what should I do?
this one question keeps coming back to me often nowadays.
I was in real shit and at the very very bottom of my lows ~3 years ago and attempted impulsively. I wish I succeed then to be honest and now I also have this additional feel of - it was for the better that I did not succeed then.
After my impulsive try and many months later I found this website. I had no idea before my impulsive try about the knowledge base on the web out there. I learnt a great deal about methods from other places and then here. If not for SS I would have found the info I was looking for anyways. One difference with SaSu was it turned out to be an unlikely place where I could get the help to get better due to he community and being able to see the real human aspects behind the worst times in our life. I was not intending to find ways to get better just wanted a good method. But also visited the recovery pages as encouraged. What ended happening was when I found a method that I was comfortable with and had it ready to go as and when I needed it was relief in itself. Just having that sense of control when everything else was torn apart by fate, gave me that sense of empowerment, that empowerment have the needed boost to muster the energy, and with that energy I got up. I got up enough to move the days without them seeming like weeks.
By no means my troubles are history, they are all still there. It is still a toss how the day can go everyday - choices are bad to terrible. Keeping it at just bad is the goal! Point is I am at least able to get back up due to SS. Getting that dignity back to myself that I am in control of my life - to stay or to leave - is just priceless.
Just wanted to share this, which is one of the reasons I wanted to turn into a member from lurker.
A sincere shout out to the admins and mods here, they have done so much for me than any medical mental health professionals.
