• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

    👉 View the ledger here

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Whats the most useless mental health advice that you've ever received?
(from mental health services/family/friends/random strangers on the internet etc...)

I'm not sure if its the worst i've EVER received but I remember calling a crisis mental health service in my country when I was actively suicidal with plans and the professional told me to calm down and have a bath and a cup of tea. I almost laughed

Maybe not quite advice but when I was staying in California I had mental health workers tell me that there must be an option for treatment for me where I could still be close to home and I didn't even have the energy to explain to them that's not even remotely true. There's no intensive treatment for hours and hours from where I live. I've already used up what limited options I had. In my entire state there's only one intensive program and I already tried it.

"Just smile more, be happier" was told this because the person didn't like the expression on my face I guess, because it brought them down and spread "negative vibes" in their words

"Be angry" (psychiatrist) "It's not relevant to call us anymore" (emergency number for suicidal thoughts).

I mean, i think i'll meet these people in hell later for giving me such advise and not helping me but reject me while they know i'm going to ctb.

I have PTSD and was told to just not think bad thoughts and that it's not a real disorder.

got asked if I have considered birthing a kid so I'd have something to live for. I could only stare at that person because they revealed to me then and there that they are a fucking idiot
