Method Taking more sn than recommended.

I read a post from someone that survived 25 grams SN as advised.

And I realise there is a small chance of failing even with this dose, so I want to take two times that dose in two glasses. I just want to make sure I have 0 chances of failing.

Will that make me vomit? Is that a bad idea?

I'm in the same boat. I am planning to do somewhere between 25 and 30g and hoping for the best. I'm about 200 pounds so I just want to be sure I take enough of it that I don't fail. It will probably make me vomit but I'll have a backup or two waiting so hopefully it all works out.

I think you run more risk due to the volume of,liquid consumed or the SN inducing more,vomitting. The only reported failure that didn't involve being found or calling police was due to vomiting. Redosing is preferable, as you will likely vomit either way.

said another way, the doses already being used are far in excess what is needed.

He probably didn't take meto beforehand, puked SN out and survived.
Preparing 2-3 glasses is a good idea, just don't chug them in one go. Even stat dose of meto probably wouldn't handle that and you'd puke your guts out.

the only attempt by a person on their page, is of someone who didn't take the correct amount of SN and used too much water. they aren't in hospital either. I assume this is what they are talking about so saying they took 25g and failed is wrong

5g of SN are lethal. 25g are just to ensure.

I wouldn't recommend taking more than 25g of SN, the chances of vomiting are higher and it might cause unneccessary pain.

@Sir_nihilist, I gave you an angry react so folks could see it and know to doubt your OP. The person who drank the SN didn't do anything as advised. It was not 25g, it was considerably more than 50ml of water, and he didn't finish it.

In addition, the angry react is because there's yet another fear-mongering and pro-lifey wave happening on the forum for the past several days. I am most displeased about the fear-mongering and blatant disinformation in your OP and so expressed my displeasure.

Edit: I am not accusing the OP of being a pro-lifer, however it's crappy timing that he posted fear-mongering founded in disinformation at the same time that fear-mongering and pro-lifery are happening in one of their regular predictable waves. The wave is displeasing, and the original post compounds that displeasure for me.

Yes sir_nihilist you can doubt anything that you want (in your mind). It becomes a problem when you make totally inaccurate statements as if they are the truth (on an open forum).

As I pointed out on that thread...
The SN was not measured (& is unlikely to have been 25grams)
The water was not measured & was definitely more than 50mls.
The whole amount was not consumed.

Therefore: That person did not take it "as advised." & I'm not sure why you'd doubt that since they admitted it!

Just follow Stans guide. He went to the trouble of researching & putting it all together for everyone. It is as close to guaranteed as you are going to get as long as you measure everything & don't mess around with the doses. More does not equal more successful.

You did not sound "fear mongering and pro-lifey" to me at all. Just put people on ignore who insult and accuse you of things.
I was asking questions about possible bad effects of SN too and got accused of being pro-life. God forbid someone asks questions about possible bad side effects from it. They get bullied. I've noticed a few people routinely love any excuse to bully.

1) I said there is a fear-mongering and pro-lifey wave on the forum. I said that your post contained fear-mongering and disinformation. I made a point to not specifically accuse you of pro-life, but to place your post in the context of what is currently happening on the forum, which is cause for irritation, and is compounded by more of the same -- fear-mongering founded in disinformation. I have edited the post where I discussed this to make clear that I ain't sayin' you're a pro-lifer (but you ain't messin' with no...crap, I can't come up with a rhyme).

2) I said that my angry react was to encourage readers to doubt the veracity of your statements, which @DyingAlf and I both pointed out were in error.

3) Just to be pedantic, you actually asked two questions: will double the dose make you vomit, and is it a bad idea. There is always a chance SN will make one vomit, it's been reported in over 50% of anecdotes. Taking double is a bad idea, but you can do the research for yourself, there are plenty of reference tools on the forum and you'll find them in the pinned Suicide Resource Compilation.

Let it go. This thread has not been useful, and gives a poor impression of how useful SN can be as a viable method to ctb.

OP made inaccurate claims, the person he is referring to did not take the SN "as advised". These claims could dissuade someone from choosing SN, or worry them more than necessary.

I don't think he was trying to "fear monger", because I don't think OP was deliberately trying to make SN look bad, but I'm sure you can understand why some users are slightly vexed.

25-30g is more than enough. The reason it is not suggested to take more than this, is because the more you take, the greater the risk of vomiting.
If you ingest and hold down 25g of SN, following the PPHB or Stan's guide, you will die.

I know exactly what's going on here because I've been seeing it repeatedly on this forum. Accusing people of being fear mongering is bullying.
