ok so this is an issue that disturbs me since about the time i'm on this forum.
there's a lot of people here that want to ctb at least partly because they are trans, and i am kinda one of them, even though i have other motivations too. this is smth that has to be expected when you are pushed against your will in a world that won't let you live as who you are.
there's probably a lot more people that are from a minority or another, which could even be ignored by current politics, and that want to ctb because they won't be accepted as they are. this is, in my opinion, a completely valid reason to ctb.
the problem is, progress in the fight for equality and respect of minorities is achieved because people in these minorities are a reality that can't be ignored or repressed anymore. in a world where people have the right to ctb whenever they want, it is expected that minorities will be systemically "forced" (in a passive way, with no government directly involved) to leave this society, while no effort will be put to improve society.
in a way, it would be a "silent genocide" (which already exists, but would be made easier if ctb is normalized for minorities at an institutional level).
my opinion on this issue is that people should have the right to choose if they want to live or not no matter what. however, i can't ignore that if assisted suicide would be legalized worldwide, it would be expected that minorities would be a huge part of those who choose to die.
i would like to have your opinion on this topic. also, i apologize for my english.
