Greetings,
I believe that suicide is something that will always exist, no matter what steps are taken to prevent it.
I'll elaborate right here and specify that I mean the act of a human ''catching the bus'', not any other animals having accidents and/or killing themselves.
Humans will always find a way to die, the same way humans will always find a way to birth. They say ''prevent suicide!'' But in reality, almost no one truly does.
''Prevent suicide'' but bullying will never cease to exist. ''Prevent suicide'' but loneliness rates keep rocketing. ''Prevent suicide'' but patients have to sell their entire kidney in terms of price if they want to receive treatment that will treat the pain they are going through. ''Prevent suicide'' but abuse rates have made a comeback ever since 2020. ''Prevent suicide'' but no one shows their children love in their most crucial years of development. ''Prevent suicide'' but people in deep-end debt see no other choice. ''Prevent suicide'' but no one can bother to invest more in the science of finding cures for terrible diseases. And so on and so on.....
Unless society's views on all of these examples change, suicide will always exist. And the more you prevent, the more grotesque methods will rise from the ground. I understand, the phobia of dying is natural and widespread, as surviving is hardwired into all humans. That's simply who we are as a species. But you cannot force someone to pretend that they do not want out.
I wish no one would have to ctb in order to live a better life, ''elsewhere''.
Regards
