It's been in the news that a 32 year old British woman named Sonia Exelby went to Florida to meet a man to kill her. She had told him she wished her life could be taken however during the time she was with him she texted her friend saying she regretted the decision. He filmed her making her 'give consent' to be harmed.

It is a very sad and complex situation.
this was a method I considered but it is unrealistic for me. I think if it is to be done it needs to be done with the right person. There are to many people, especially men, who are so willing to take advantage of vulnerable women. This is part of a bigger conversation that 'normal' people aren't ready for.
What is evens thoughts on this situation and method?

Not a method. Just a way to give abusers what they want. That said, I'd easily let specific people hurt and do whatever to me before killing me. Not just anyone, or someone I'd meet online though, and I'd rather do it to myself.

"Dwain Hall, 53, from Ocala, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping after the victim's remains were found in Marion County, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said in a statement."

"The affidavit said Exelby had long struggled with mental health problems, was suicidal and "planned to travel to the United States with the intention of meeting with online individuals who would be willing to kill her violently."

Definitely do NOT do this. Never mind whether it's a woman or a man, some sadistic sicko—which you'd have to be to agree to something like this—could rape and torture you.

Very sad that her life was ended in such a way. She had a long term boyfriend. I can't imagine how this has affected him. Although I do understand that it's hard to think or care about how those close to you will feel about your death when you're in so much pain and just want it to end. Still, she didn't deserve that ending. I'm sure she was a lovely person.
