Method Suicide Or Accidental Overdose? -Fentanyl-

So my method of choice is Fentanyl.

My parents will be gone for a few days.

My original plan was to get a hotel and OD there with notes left. Would 100% be a Suicide.

My other option now is. I could make it look like i just OD'ed on accident. Put on my TV. Put on Call Of Duty with the controller in my lap making it look like i was not trying to kill myself.

Do people take overdoses less emotionally than suicide?

I know with SN, it can't really be an accident.

But with fent, i could make it look like it.

IDK, trying to make up my mind.

I have everything ready.

well do they think that you're a person that would casually consume fent?

I think it's sweet that you're trying to spare them pain. I don't know enough about autopsies and whatnot to know if a medical examiner will be able to rule it as an accident vs a suicide.

Not really sure if there's a right answer here.

If they end up being able to tell that it was a suicide (like if they get your browsing history off your phone etc), would you prefer that you leave a note?

i think that people are going to grieve and blame themselves no matter how you die, i dont think it would be considerably less if you od compared to suicide, but i dont know your parents so its hard to say, and as sadbh-itstimetogo said, even if you try to stage it to look like an od, they could find evidence to suggest that it was a suicide anyways

it could prolong the investigation if they dont think the cause of death is clear, which could bring more pain to your family bc its more police officers poking around etc

Both ways of losting someone make u feel guilty and bad, the suffer will be the same dosent metter if its suicide or od. Its sweet ur worried about them, but any way sounds painful, so think about yourself about whats better for you i guess. Hugs

Pretty sure they gonna find out, by the concentration of fentanyl in the blood, checking your browser history and probably other clues you will leave unintentionally that we can't even think of, but someone who is used to examining death cases will. @COP2CON posted a pretty nice thread about this stuff some time back.

Also don't think it makes a difference necessarily if it's seen as an accident or suicide. They will grief no matter what.

well i dont know your parents so im not sure how they would take it but yes it does completely change a ton of peoples thoughts and reactions. theres plenty of people who would be distraught if someone ended their life but would be more mad and disappointed if someone overdosed. ive seen some people think others suicides are sad but when they see that someone overdosed they have no sympathy and say that person is a "dumbass". ive even seen it on this site! i dont remember the exact wording but something like "its not fair that a bunch of stupid kids die because they took a random pill but i dont get to." if you think your parents are anything like that then yes there is a huge chance theyll take it like that. good luck i hope whatever happens you wont be in pain anymore. you seem like a nice person it really sucks that mental health support is as bad as it is and extremely expensive too.
