Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Sometimes I read stuff written by professionals on suicide and suicidology, usually directed at other professionals. I don't know why I do this since it's usually an exercise in masochism. Well, in the introduction in this book on the topic the psychiatrist author of the work says the quote in the title.

So I'm submitting it to the forum for a proper pick-apart.

I don't contest that it's an ugly thing but I can think of uglier things. Such as the suffering that drives people to it in the first place. Why make it seem like "life" is "innocent" in all this? It's life or aspects of it that cause people to kill themselves. The capacity for suffering is immense even if not half that potential is realized for the average person. But there are a lot of people in the world, way more than natural law stipulates, so you're going to find people for whom that potential is realized way more than average.

I hate when it's a beautiful sunny day, around 72 degrees, and I'm surrounded by beauty, but i can't enjoy or take advantage of any of it. It's like I'm a dog on a treadmill with a juicy steak dangling at the end.

Haven't been able to do so since mid adolescence. It's truly sick.
