And this is why it disgusts me how we exist in such an anti-suicide society where suicide isn't seen as a valid choice, because I see suicide as being the way to prevent all futile and unnecessary suffering in an existence there was never a need for in the first place.
In fact to me it only feels rational wishing to die on my own terms to escape from all future harms in a reality that is objectively so hellish, as nobody can deny that existence holds such extreme potential for suffering, simply just existing in this reality where chance so cruelly determines everything is something so harmful.

The truth is that existence causes nothing but harm, I don't see any value in delaying the inevitable just to suffer so senselessly in the process yet nobody who no longer exists can mourn for how they lack the ability to be tormented in this cruel existence, instead they are simply unaware.
I only see ceasing to exist as being ideal as then existence wouldn't be my problem anymore and I wouldn't have to deal with it, instead all will be forgotten about.
So to me suicide is self care rather than the most terrible tragedy that other people like to label it as. Wanting to die to escape from the cruelty and futilty of existing is a perfectly logical response to me, I see suicide as the solution to suffering, and I'd prefer to avoid all suffering in this pointless existence where we are just waiting to die anyway.

Can I ask when you recall first feeling this way? I think many or maybe some of us have experienced joy, contentment or happiness at some points. I just wonder if you ever have. It's incredibly cruel and unfair if this is how you have always felt all your life. The capacity for severe human suffering is just unbelievably cruel

From what I can remember I've never really wished to exist here. Happiness doesn't exist in this world, the idea of such a thing is a delusion anyway. In my case wanting to die is just a result of becoming aware of how truly undesirable existence is, existence itself is the true problem.

Disagree, and I think you're almost crossing the line into encouragement with statements like this tbh.

CTB should never be encouraged, but I believe firmly that it should be an option that there for those who want it. It does not need to be advertised, glorified or even openly discussed, but it should be an option. I cannot fathom how we can live in societies that (mostly) permit abortion on demand but do not permit euthanasia on demand. The moral ambiguities that exist with the former are absent from the latter as the only death will be that of the person making the decision. Crazy.

You disagree that it's a solution to prevent unnecessary suffering? Can I ask why you're here on SS, and why you believe so many take their own lives?

This is a venting thread btw

@idk3 I'm planning my own CTB but I don't think blanket pro-death statements like this are helpful. I actually share a lot of the same views as FC (plus I'm an antinatalist) but I think she crosses the line with statements like this, as well as calling suicide "self-care" just my opinion though. Am I allowed to be on here if I'm planning to CTB myself, is FC planning to CTB or is she just trying to convince everyone else to? She says she respects pro-choice and then makes statements like this...

I know, we get them everyday, and I disagree with them everyday.
