Suicide by gun without blowing off face.

I've contemplated committing suicide by shooting myself in the head with a gun. It seems to be the best option for me. Partial suspension hanging has not worked well for me in the past due to the flight mode kicking in and pulling the noose off my head halfway in through the process. I'd prefer to end my life with my face intact and recognizable at least, nearly all the suicide photos by gun ive seen have the victim's head either completely obliterated or the internal bones shattered to where the face is distorted. What kind of gun, what angle at which to fire, any advice?

Gunshot is my method and I have pondererd the same thoughts for a long time. I have seen the same and I wish to try and keep my face in tact as well, I don't know if that's possible though. I'm putting a shotgun in my mouth angled up so it blows my brains out the back of my head. I have hopes that it may leave my face mostly in tact and just blow everything back. but it could pop my head like a balloon and just completely blow it a part. I guess I'll never know what happens , hopefully.

Can't give you exact advice like that, but if I was looking to avoid facial damage, I'd aim somewhere else or go with a different method.

I'm sure what to advise because I don't know anything on the subject just my own thoughts according to logic. But I think that Kurt Cobain's face was recognizable after his suicide with a gun, maybe try to look that case up? I might be wrong though it's just something I think I remember but I might be mistaken, I'm sorry

Pretty sure eating a 12 gauge shotgun aimed at the roof of your mouth with a 45-degree angle is as foolproof as it gets if it comes to methods. Reaching the trigger might be a problem tho and you better not flinch. You're aiming for a brain stem, it's not a hard shot either. I never heard of any cases where someone would do it that way and somehow survive with half a brain. Honestly, I don't think reliability is a point anyone should be concerned about when it comes to this method. The biggest downsides were always accessibility, post-mortem consequences and psychological factors. Just the thought of piercing my brain with pellets makes me shiver, also pulling the trigger and immediately turning the lights off isn't as appealing to me as for example putting myself to sleep and dying in the middle of being unconscious.

After all my research, what you said is exactly what I have planned. I don't plan on flinching, I know what I want and need to do, but I've never been in the moment of pulling the trigger, so let's hope I don't flinch. Good information!
