Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

So, I'm actually trying to take therapy seriously rather than just using it as means to whine at someone for an hour. I usually use teledoc or online services since I don't really have access to reliable transportation. Problem is, pretty much every therapist has kind of sucked. I had one that I liked but he no longer takes my insurance. My current therapist told me that ADHD comes from "trauma" and is a lot more in favor of "holistic" techniques.

I really do want to get the most out of therapy. But I feel like so far it's been a crap shoot. Would in person be a lot better?

id recommend in person since theres some aspects of therapy that can't be conveyed online. Like hand gestures, emotions, tone, etc.

have you checked out the psychology today therapist database? you can filter it by specialty (for example, adhd), insurance, telehealth, cost, etc

if you can't find anyone that way, does your insurance company website have a database of medical professionals who are covered by your insurance plan? my insurance has a database of therapists

i think having a therapist who actually has experience with your conditions is really important. you can do this with the filters, but i also recommend asking them in the first session if they have experience working with adhd clients, what their treatment plans are for adhd clients, and so on. some of them will offer free 15 minute consultations where you can ask these things and more generally see if you vibe with the therapist before committing to a session
