In order to endure the strangulating feeling of full suspension hanging, I have to first get comfortable with the feeling of choking, and the tense feeling in throat that makes me want to cough and cut the rope off.
I have been practicing by putting my noose around my neck and strangling myself as much as possible (in a partial suspension setting), so that I become accustomed to it. Gradually increasing in duration, slowly, and slowly. Since I do not seem to lose consciousness within 30 seconds, I believe this is a necessary step.
Once I learn how to become comfortable with losing oxygen, I will succeed. Truly, what a tedious task this is.
