Method stabbing myself with a boxcutter - dumb idea?

ive been looking for a painful method to harm myself or slowly bleed out recently and been thinking about stabbing myself around my stomach
anything i should be aware about? any stories from ppl who did it? and whats the fatality rate?

To answer the title: yes. You have about a 1% chance of success. You'll end up in extreme pain with some gnarly scars, might need stitches and make yourself anemic, but you have a ~99% chance of making it to see the next day.

The odds of getting to your carotid while not in psychosis are not good. There is a lot of muscle and tissue blocking it, even if it seems closer to the surface. Your mind and body will stop you from continuing before you reach it.
