• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

If I stab my carotid artery is it guaranteed death? I live in Canada and it's a bit more difficult to leave this world here because firearms and SN are regulated. I heard slicing your carotid artery isn't a good idea because it's deeper than your skin. What if I stab it really hard and fast a bunch of times? Will it sting, be really painful, or will the adrenaline numb the pain? Also how deep (how many cm or inches deep) should I stab so that I puncture or sever my carotid artery but don't stab through my windpipe? I have a folding knife. The blade is about 8 cm (3.15 inches) long and 2 cm (0.79 inches) wide.

Low probability, self preservation instincts, bad physical consequences after survival. Please reconsider!

Cutting
This method is often sought out by people who have seen it in movies or TV shows. It should not be considered a method, as it is only in these shows to play it up for the movies. With a success rate of ~1-4%, the odds are the opposite of in your favor. While they make it seem like you can take a razor blade to the wrist and peacefully slip into unconsciousness in the bathtub, in reality it is nothing like that. The human body is wired to not be able to harm itself in this way. In order to die from blood loss you would have to cut an artery. The arteries are meticulously located beneath several layer of muscle, tendons, and other tissues. They are not meant to be cut, especially not on purpose. Even with wonderful understanding of anatomy, such as healthcare workers, you would have a very, very poor chance of reaching them unless you were in a state of psychosis. If you attempted to, you would find yourself halfway there before realizing you mentally and physically cannot get yourself to go any further. Your mind will stop you without you having any control over it. Many people argue that if they get drunk or high beforehand they will be able to overcome it, however this would impair your ability to properly locate and cut to the arteries. The biggest risk with this method is permanent nerve damage to whatever area you attempt to cut. Depending on how deep you get before aborting, you may end up with severe scarring and potentially anemia or other blood loss related conditions

You're talking really deep, possibly repeated wounds which will be painfull and require an extraordinary amount of willpower to achieve.
Success in ctb is most unlikely, whilst damage to nerves and muscles resulting in permanent impairment is very liable to occur. Please rethink this one.

That's the thing, this requires good anatomical knowledge. If you accurately hit your carotid you won't touch your windpipe at all. Bleeding to death would be quick, but I can think that actually severing it enough is quite hard as it is hidden under other tissues. You'd need to cut several times which requires quite the pain tolerance. But based on videos I have seen it isn't impossible. I don't know what the success rate is as this is attempted relatively rarely. The text @Loaf of bread quoted above rather refers to cutting the wrists than the throat. I guess the successrate is similar?

What if I stab it really hard and fast a bunch of times?
Stabbing it hard and fast is very inaccurate, you'd surely puncture your windpipe like this. Cutting in a more controlled manner would be better, though requires more overcoming to do.

What if I took some kind of drug to numb the pain and then punctured or severed my femoral and carotid arteries? I don't see how this wouldn't work as the blood loss would be significant. Is there any such drug?

None that I am aware of which is generally available in the UK, where I am.

This is my method right now. After I messed up drowning because I got scared and now I can't leave alone to the nearby coast, this is what I have.

I'm not saying this is the best method, but the "low" success rate comes from people slicing their wrist, which has very little blood volume, and the arteries are harder to locate.

Avicii actually died from cutting his neck. I believe with enough pain tolerance, this method can be solid. Bad thing is, you can't back down cause otherwise your famly will see your wounds and the rest is over.
