Help How deep is carotid artery?

I'm getting desperate. How realistic is it to cut your own neck? I accidentally came across a post-mortem picture of a man with a cut on his neck on a forensics website. I don't want to choke on my own blood though. Maybe if the carotid artery isn't that deep enough I could tolerate the pain and just slit it.

Yay t is not very realistic. SI is very strong while trying to cut yourself so it is very difficult yo pull off. Also, you need to study anatomy and know where you are aiming so you hit the right place on the first try. If you can do that though, you can bleed out very quickly
