  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at admin@sanctioned-suicide.net.

I thought it was down for the past couple of weeks and was monitoring the site and the twitter for news. Checked my browser settings and my VPN wasn't active (oops), so I turned that on and the site is accessible.

Anyone else found an issue with access in the UK? I'm aware there's a police presence on the site, have seen copies of the coroner's reports pointing blame at the site and recommending restricting access, and read about the 'welfare checks' they've been making on SN purchases from a certain Ebay seller.

Somewhat concerned about this latest turn of events.

I'm from the UK and I've been able to access this site fine for the past few months. It went down for me last week but it was back up in a few hours. I hope this site doesn't get banned here. If it does, do you think you will be able to bypass the ban with VPN?

I'm from Aus and it was down a long time for me. Only worked through a VPN and now seems to work fine. Sorry for slight off-topic. Carry on.

It's odd... I just tested it out. On Opera it wasn't functioning until I checked in today. Now it works both with VPN on and off. On Duckduckgo, it won't load today and wouldn't load in previous attempts.

Other browsers I haven't tried.

Oh hells... just risked it in chrome and it opened some page related to my internet provider and 'unlocking content'. Shut that down within a millisecond.

Perhaps that indicates it's something to do with my provider more than an outside source.

No that's helpful, thank you for making us aware.

I couldn't access it either last week for a few days. Same scenario with VPN which is strange as I didn't manually turn mine off.

Yeah, it might have something to do with your internet provider. Some internet providers do block access to certain sites. Also strange thing I noticed, I was able to access SS with mobile data in the past but recently, SS won't load at all. It's fine when I use WiFi but I can't access when I uses data anymore.. strange

Knowing there are police officers here just freaks me out and makes me angry. I'm just trying to socialise with people who won't tell me to shut up and stop being miserable.

If the police want to be useful, why don't they keep a closer eye on Facebook/Twitter/Discord/Reddit where children are being groomed. Just fuck off and let us be gloomy in peace.

Yeah they are fucking useless and when you report an actual crime nothing gets done about it! They'd rather be out there hiding in bushes trying to catch people speeding to generate money for the government to keep them in their jobs. Too many are corrupt aswell!
