my journey since I joined her has been a rollercoaster, many ups and downs (albeit more downs), and it feels hopeless to try recovery.

I lost therapy ages ago and I was in a happier place so I was like "eh, I suppose I don't need it" but now I'm in a very rough place with no one to talk to.

No particular life circumstances have entirely contributed to this, but some have somewhat contributed. A big one right now is something in my apartment broke and now I'll eventually have to call to get it repaired, and that's fine and dandy, except I'm not supposed to have a cat. I worry the maintenance people will mention I have a cat. This place I'm renting from is honestly terrible, I've heard they try to overcharge the heck out of you for anything they can when you move out.

I could try to hide my cat but an issue that has arisen is that I don't know when they will come. They just get to it whenever and let themselves in with a key. It's infuriating tbh, and idk what to do. I'm just so stressed and upset about that and other circumstances in life that I can't say I entirely want to talk about.

I just wanted to get this off of my chest. It's been a while since I've posted and I don't know whether it's good or bad that I'm back again :/

I completely understand how it's often this one thing that pushes us over the edge. Was the same for me...

However, I still have hope you won't get into trouble for your cat. Why would maintenance workers know about the rules made by your landlord? How would they know that cats are not allowed at your place? And even if they did, I can hardly imagine they'd care. Maybe make some small talk with them once they're there, offer some coffee and cookies, and that should make you likable enough for them not to snitch.

Unless these maintenance guys work directly for your landlord, it should be fine. Although I completely understand your worries of course. In times like these, pets are often times more of a friend than most people.

This is all coming from someone in the EU though, so I could be wrong of course. But I still don't see these random maintenance guys snitching on your cat just for the heck of it

Yeah, I'm glad you understand, although I'm also sorry you understand because I know how much it sucks.

The maintenance guys do work for the landlord unfortunately. I don't know if they'll snitch, I doubt they'll immediately keep track of if I'm supposed to have a cat or not but it's obviously a fear.

It suck's because most things I can repair on my own, and I've done so. This specific thing, though, requires tools, which I have, but specific parts, which I don't have and don't know where to get :(

I don't think they'd snitch for no reason but I've never dealt with maintenance since a few days after I moved in.

Damn, that's a problem, yeah...

I mean, there's still the obvious option of just telling them you're watching a friend's cat for a few days. But I don't really see that working out

I still don't think the maintenance workers will even care about the cat though. Just make sure to be nice to them and maybe offer some coffee and cookies. I think that's your best bet (other than giving the cat away to a close friend until after the repairs, but if that was an option, you probably would've had the same idea already...)
