Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Some nights are so unlivable that I can't keep going. Thus, I put my hands around my neck and start to strangle myself. I am perfectly conscious that I can't die this way, but it's like my body needs it. I don't know why, but I feel a sort of relief this way.

Has anyone experienced something like this? Do u think there is a biological or scientific reason?

it's the same reason people self harm. it's a physical sensation you can focus on instead of the emotional pain you're in. i've talked about choking myself as a kid to my friends in high school before, but they didn't really understand or just made jokes about it. it's similar to cutting, i think, but cutting is just easier for people to understand.

I actually did this once, shower cord. I knew it wouldn't do anything but that didn't stop me.

I also think it's one of the reasons and generally it's the most common in self harming. But when I do that it's like there is something else, something deeper that I didn't figure out yet...

i was frustrated with myself and being young, but i knew i couldn't hurt anybody around me or break anything because i would get in trouble. i had no real way of coping with anything as a child so it was easy to see hurting myself as a natural solution to stress.

I have scratched, slapped and punched myself at times.

Sometimes I just need to take the anger out on myself, it's a form of release.

Frustration. Also worth mentioning I also scratched my arms raw, beat myself in the head, and slapped myself in the face. Oh and as soon as I was able to I cut myself as well. I know that feelings of stress push me further to do these things.
