Here's the thing that confuses me about the SN protocol in PPH.
The protocol recommends taking oxazepam straight after drinking the SN, in order to lessen the unpleasant symptoms of ingesting SN and shorten the time to consciousness loss.
Here's the problem. The onset of action for oxazepam is said to be 30 to 60 minutes, while the symptoms of SN poisoning begin within 5 minutes after ingestion. Death is supposed to occur after 40 minutes.
How on earth is oxazepam supposed to help you if the effects of SN have run their course and you're already unconscious or dead by the time the oxazepam starts to work? Wouldn't it make more sense to take the oxazepam 30 minutes before you drink the SN?
