i think its not as stable as SN, though im not sure... But Sodium Azide was mentioned in the ppeh and you only need 2g to pass out, plus there are no chances of recovery so it seems pretty much perfect

After a quick google search i noticed that SA, at least where i'm from is much much more regulated and harder to get than SN.

I was able to find it pretty easily, but im worried that since people usually dont use this method, itll be harder to go?

I personally chose SN, someone might say because it is more popular (especially on this site). My reasons are, above all, quite pragmatic in nature. I have read a large number of farewell threads with SN, numerous suggestions, protocols for SN, etc. Simply, there is much more information about SN from first and second hand, and those experiences are so valuable and instructive.

Sodium Azide is highly reactive. When exposed to some metals it can explode and can cause some damage through skin contact. It also forms a toxic gas when mixed with water. Overall it can pose a hazard to those who find you and/or the chemical. Sodium nitrite is much less reactive and safer in this regard.

Potassium nitrite. In not sure but a quick look through google doesn't yield much information.

agreed, the popularity is appealing.. however, SA is tasteless as opposed to SN which is very salty as described by people here

Sodium azide is very dangerous. It's more regulated because it's so dangerous. I would imagine it's easier to make a mistake with it as well due to how hazardous it is and the possibility of accidentally exposing yourself to gas etc from the chemical before even getting to a drink rendering you unable to complete your task at hand. Just based on research, I know very little about chemicals.

SA is impossible to get in the U.S. unless you have your own lab. And it is very dangerous. It goes boom simply when it touches metal--so that's why the PPH says not to stir the mixture with a metal spoon, you'll blow up your fingers.

Likewise, it creates a hydrazoic acid (HN₃) when it comes into contact with acids, which includes gastric acids. The PPH mentions this, and if anyone tries to resuscitate you, they'll be getting a mouthful of hydrazoic aicd and you could be threatening their life as well.

SA has no antidote, so imo, it's a lot better. There's no coming back from SA, and no one can stop it.

I think read somewhere that SA is more uncomfortable/painful. Idk if that's true though. I've never heard of anyone on SaSu attempting with SA, so we don't really have many data points, whereas with SN many people have attempted with it.

It loses points compared to sn due to safety protocol and it being so combustible and also producing toxins when exposed to acid or water, but its rating for peacefulness is the same, I think.

"Symptoms of sa ingestion, prior to loss of consciousness, include: nausea, gastric irritation, and the development of moderate to severe headache from rapid drop in bloodpressure. A large study of 172 people using sa in 2024 by GGD Amsterdam describes a number of difficult deaths where people became 'hot, short of breath, dizzy and with significant vomiting."

Loss of Consciousness in 30 minutes.
Death occurred within 1-2 hours.

Looks like it takes longer than SN too.

Reports of symptoms experienced vary widely, from none, to severe vomiting, fecal incotinance, confusion, agitation, and dizziness.

Difficult deaths. Eeeeeeeee. My understanding was it was relatively the same. The chart they used in PPH shows peacefulness as a 6/10 for sn and a 5/10 for SA. So still not that bad. Looks like any time you try to off yourself, there's going to be some risks. Roll of the dice, just like life.

https://www.exitinternational.net/d...cide-powder-middel-x-leads-to-a-humane-death/ This shows some pretty concerning details with SA, not at all peaceful. Screaming for help, one person tries to get a knife to kill themselves faster. They definitely need sedatives with it....

But there are substantial difficulties in storing the chemical, disposing of the chemical, and dangers to any first responders, as well. I like that it doesn't have an antidote, though. I don't want to be brought back and have to die all over again.
