People complain about how social media has made society worse but I believe social media is exposing people for who they really are and the true depravity that exists in our world.
Social media shows over and over again how people like to go along with the crowd in bullying, gossiping and making fun of others. The anonymity and distance that comes with social media gives absolute people the power to type insults, cruel remarks and unlimited judgmental behaviour without seeing or experiencing real consequences.
In the non virtual world when it comes to mental health or suicide people the truth is the minute you reach out for help peoples true colours come out . Reaching out reveals what people really think about suicide this is how you know who is a good person who genuinely cares and those that are bad, arrogant and judgmental people . This attitude from the non virtual world extends to the digtal world of social media. Social media also shows how people want to be seen as a morally good person in filming or taking pictures of their acts of kindness in public or tweeting the number of the suicide hotline whenever a celebrity kills themselves or platitudes about reaching out if you feel low,
People are happy to virtual signal on social media how they care about mental health but the minute you have a different opinion or perspective that doesn't fit their world view they just turn on you this behaviour also exists within people in online mental health support spaces. During the Covid19 pandemic I got builled out of a community of depression sufferers because they didn't agree with my comment on how I wished I died from covid19
Everyone wants to be seen as a good person but nobody wants to behave like an actual good person who shows empathy and compassion for others.Parents and older boomers blame social media for everything because they are deep in denial over how self centred and cruel the world they brought their kids in and have failed to equip their kids to deal with it.

Before I became very active on Sanactioned Suicide I got builled out of a depression support online community by other depression sufferers
After I graduated university my depression was persistent and not going away so I decided to connect online with other depression sufferers to help deal with the loneliness of being a depression sufferer. This depression support community majority of its users are from the UK and some are from...
