Yeah he really vilified the website and the people on it. I joined the site before his video and I couldn't believe some of the things he was saying, as I knew they were very inaccurate portrayals
Was this by any chance an ash attempt to flee from the trolls destroying the newsgroup?
From what I remember, there were several groups, some with moderators, others without moderators. Groups without moderators were filled with trolls. Groups with moderators still got trolls. I read about the hideout group in one of those with moderators. It was an invitation only group. I don't know exactly who created it. I asked one who had been quite active in a group to give me an invitation. He did. He were very active for quite a while after that, but later I learned he was gone. It was a very long time ago.
