Reason: intestinal pain due to constipation. Can't go to pharmacy.

Trial I

50g salt (NaCl) in 125ml water , after taking 20mg metoclopramide, Xanax, and Clonazepam (small amounts). Half of that amount of salt should have induced diarrhea withing 30-60m. It was accompanied by 1.5L of water so quite different practice than SN.

Since it is 125ml I had to take sips -- big mistake.
  • Taste is horrible, but I am very sensitive, 6/10 -- quite bad.
    • I think for other people this should be 3/10.
    • It's not painful just very disgusting.
    • This was solved by next trial.
  • Burns tongue and lower esophagus sphincter, but not throat itself, 4/10 -- moderate discomfort but not pain.
  • 5m after intake:
    • Stomach burns, 3/10 -- mild discomfort, just not fun.
    • Interesting to note that not many members complained about burning in stomach with SN.
  • 10m after intake:
    • Nausea 3/10 -- mild discomfort, not nice.
    • Saliva , a lot , 5/10 -- annoying
    • Burning burps and hiccups , 3/10 -- annoying and discomfort
    • Hard to swallow water/saliva
    • Heavy breathing (or something similar)
  • Other symptoms 10m-20m after intake:
    • Very dizzy
    • Blurry
    • Imbalance
    • Bit shaky (not serious)
    • Bit headache (not serious)
    • Despite lightheartedness I felt like body "too heavy" to carry ..
    • Something with my pulse / BP (not sure, I was too out of it lol)
    • Can't do much , must lie down , overall 5/10 -- no discomfort but must rest
      • Nothing close to fainting as it's a very small amount of salt , but just can't do much .
      • I have GI issues , I am underweight , and fragile .
  • Notes on more symptoms:
    • Stomach burning , headache , and pulse should have 'doubled' in severity had I not taken 1.5L water . Still that wouldn't be that bad imho .
    • Due to meto+benzo nausea was really not that bad .

Trial II

30g in 50ml . Shot straight to the back of throat - that's it!
Straw can be used but will need to suck liquid which is slow . Just a hit to the back of throat , perfect .
Similar symptoms happened. Salty burning burps are funny lol

Notes & Conclusion
  • Burning sensation: yeah it's there. Very mild with NaCl , I assume stronger with NaNO2 .
  • Aftertaste: there is , as mentioned , but I drank water and it subsided mostly (though still there!)
Definitely need to take something to make taste/burning go away . It is NOT painful at all just very annoying. Nausea, dizziness, headache, heartbeat etc were okay and pretty "normal". I assume most people have experienced those before. This is not the big issue. The slight burning , burps , taste etc -- when accompanied by dizziness -- were somewhat important to "peaceful" factor . Peaceful in PPH/SS terms is about pain , I'm talking about the general feeling and general comfort... It's just annoying that you are very dizzy and out of focus and there are some 'bad sensations' in body (add-on effect).

I would need something more overwhelming like half a teaspoon of strong jam. This should increase stomach juices. Perhaps small sip of water after SN is fine -- after 50ml serving another 25ml water afterwards won't do harm.

I think main concern is NOT stomach interaction and juices (though should be minimized) -- but QUICK TRANSFER of SN to intestines with little interference. So I'd say jam 5m after intake? Sweet exit

The rational:
Process of stomach-->intestines occurs mostly within 5m . Then things are okay . The rest will follow . SN is moving already . Another 10m in intestines --> faint .

  • I must emphasize again -- burning/taste/etc are insignificant -- but easing those would make things almost perfect .
  • No pain whatsoever :smiling: And there shouldn't be with SN as well , just burning nausea stomach discomfort heartbeat headache etc ; There's no reason for pain .

Question

It should be easy to overcome the taste like that.
  • Are there any ideas what natural things -- not meds -- could sooth throat (without irritating stomach)?
I don't think [spear]mint is the answer as it can be a mild irritant, but I'm unsure. Evil Potions Master @nitrogen to the rescue?

Disclaimer

Did you see that "cant go to pharmacy" thing?

I have serious GI issues, not "just constipation". I cannot use stimulants like suggested ; nor bulkers . Only osmotic.

NOTHING will make me feel worse than already. That's why I wanna ctb. Any discomfort I felt with salt was great for me. Call it stupid or some implicit 'self harm', I don't care. Sorry the pain is too strong and debilitating.

I get them from amazon, so They come to my door. They also can be gotten from any market or Safeway or whatever. I'm sorry you're in pain. GI stuff sucks. Salt will only make it worse

Here is a recipe for oral rehydration solution. This will function significantly better than water, and you have better absorption and better rehydration. I hope you feel better.
  1. Six (6) level teaspoons of Sugar.
  2. Half (1/2) level teaspoon of Salt.
  3. One Litre of clean drinking or boiled water and then cooled - 5 cupfuls (each cup about 200 ml.

Damn, snickerdoodle @Quarky00 , that was some hardcore self-experimentation.

Drink some Pedialyte or Gatorade for quick rehydration.

It's silly for people to obsess over "making things perfect", the taste, the mild discomfort. Swallowing bad-tasting liquid (e.g. herbal medicine, cum) and suffering through mild to moderate discomfort (e.g.menstrual cramps) is a nuisance many folks endure all the time, but they have a problem with going through some discomfort when it comes to CTB.

A well-known trick to reduce saltiness in culinary art is neutralizing with cream rich in fat. But when taking SN, you wanna minimize stomach acid production, so I guess use a creamy substance that doesn't taste too good or bad, maybe whole milk to gargle the mouth with.

To live up to the title of "evil potions master", here's another suggestion. It makes sense to overpower an offensive taste that you have a low tolerance for with another offensive taste that you have a high tolerance for. So may I suggest using Jalapeno pepper juice to rinse the mouth after taking SN for folks who're into spicy food (though spiciness isn't a taste per se)

There's epsom salt as well, I think it might be more common.
I ♡ Magnesium Sulfate. Used it a lot.

Nay, I detailed in OP already..
  • 10 nuisances at once = big problem.
  • "Many folks": we are not many. SS members endure well? lol
  • "All the time": ctb is kinda special and not 'any time' or 'having the flu' .
    • You want most crucial decision in your life/death to be 15m of yuck?
  • Pleasure from taste (even with unhedonia) is significant and can make a real nice sweet exit
    • Sorry you misunderstand: it's not "perfect" literally , I explained a lot about comfort , ain't gonna repeat.
    • Think of a sick child -- having a candy :)
Cream won't do. No need to 'reduce saltiness'. It's not about normal [bud ] taste but when their receptors are over-firing. Sodium makes chemoreceptors fire. So not taste, but burning.

Also not same biochemical or neurological signal as 'spicey' (and not same sensation).

Love the pepper idea ..
Would a person turn red or blue? :haha:

I just mentioned on another thread today, but prepping the mouth with rinsinol could help, it could prevent the sodium from touching your mouth and tongue as much as it normally would, creates a film.

I was hoping for natural/food items (to create a pleasant experience) rather than another trip to the pharmacy , but it could be promising. I cannot find alternatives for outside US markets though .. I wonder how common/accessible it is.

Well if it counts it's made in Italy, and sold under the brand gum here in the US. It doesn't seem to have any "drug" components. The US is generally more restrictive anyway I think. It should just be under a different name. Or look for mouth sore rinses.

Those suppositories are excellent. I have chronic constipation which became worse after 2016 when I broke my neck and fractured my skull (wasn't an attempt effort). I had been using Fleet enemas (also good), currently have a container of glycerin suppositories in the freezer.

Pro tip: cold suppositories are oddly refreshing.

I had done "the master cleanse" for a little over 40 days, this was the summer of 2014 maybe? Around that time. Anyhow, at the end of the cleanse, you're instructed to do a salt water flush. It was...something. One would think after not eating for 40 or so days, there wouldn't be much to crap out so to speak but no, oh no....

In hindsight I found my descriptions very similar to SN testimonies of members.

Just drank the SN. It's very salty. Gotta log out now. Im salivating a lot.

After taking it you guys should have pieces of candy ready to mask the aftertaste!

I will be using a funnel to bypass my tongue and hopefully the gag reflex . . . .Gagged somewhat and a salett taste in the back of my throat.
--> 50ml shot quick solves that

SN is very salty. It will burn your throat but no real pain, just some discomfort

I have already estén. Agg its horrible for drink.

It tastes extremely salty. Like a car tire. Recommend using a chaser.

It's done. Very disgusting lmao.. Going to bed now.

It was SUPER salty . . Little nauseous. No headache. Very nauseous now . . . I threw up. Back of my throat hurts. Gonna sit here for a bit . . . Stomach feels funny. Back of throat Burns. . .
--
Just super nauseous. A little dizzy. Having difficulty taking a full breath. Keep coughing. Back of throat hurts

Tastes like really salty sea water like people have said. My throat burns, eeeek. My heart is beating fast. Stomach burns. Body feels so warm. Going to lay down.

Fuck didn't take long being sick already no tablets tho taste like shit headache is here an got the shakes also

Taste & burning: 'small' thing not painful -- but important for sensory (mental) experience

Should be made pleasant
Take something overwhelming or sweet

"Xylitol is five percent less sweet than sugar" . But I'm very interested , what do you mean cool? 'Cool' can be soothing thus helpful..

Care to quote a testimony?
Cool by probably the low boiling point of xylitol maybe, just a theory. It's cooling like when you get gasoline or rubbing alcohol on your hand. Just a nice refreshing mouthfeel. It's in a lot of chewing gum and people use the powdered form I mention as an artificial sweetener in coffee or tea, albeit not for the cooling sensation.
There's this stuff from italy I'm trying to remember the name of when i was there that's amazing. Just a sachet of powder, has paracetamol, menthol, xylitol. Does wonders for your mouth and your headache FAST.

Another informative thread - as always, thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication. I was actually thinking of doing a trial like this myself, so that I could form a "baseline" that I could use to see how the experience compares to SN (in particular the taste and burning sensations). Maybe you've saved me some trouble lol, but I am really sorry to hear about your GI issues... From what you've written here, it seems that knocking the solution back in one go would be the best way for me to go about it.

Thank you for taking a hit for the team and sharing your findings with us.

@Quarky00 If you insist on making your SN exit sweet with food items, I'm out of idea for you. Your best bet is to sneak into Charlie's Chocolate Factory. Ask Willy Wonka to create some magic chewing gum that somehow doesn't stimulate gastric acid secretion while tell the tongue chemoreceptors to calm the F down. The risk is turning into a gigantic bloated blueberry like Violet Beauregarde, but since you're turning blue with SN anyway, I don't see that as a problem. PS, if you have a ctb partner, your partner could just eat you, a blueberry, for a sweet exit.
Violet
Blue

All the time: yeah ctb is kinda special and not just 'any time' or 'having the flu' , aye? lol
  • You want the most crucial decision in your life/death to be 15m of yuck?
I suppose that applies to some folks. Personally speaking, ctb isn't some pleasant special occasion like a wedding; as long as it's tolerable, it's in and of itself liberating. Plus, I didn't bother to hold a wedding, stopped celebrating birthdays and holidays many yrs ago - it all feels pointless, repetitive and a waste of energy. The only ceremonies or rituals I perform now have to do with summoning demons.
