How do you store you SN? Do you plan on repacking them?

I've repacked my SN so I can carry them with me if I want to.

I used a 6x10cm resealable packets that can fit 25 grams of SN perfectly. I made 4 bags so I have 100 grams, enough for 4 solutions.

Easy to carry sealed packs.

I did this mainly because I'm planning to go on a hike for when my time come to ctb. By doing so, I don't have to carry a scale and the half kg bottle of SN when I'm on a trip. Just have to make sure I triple seal it inside small plastic bags. Silica gel can also be used if available.

I understand some folks here are reluctant to even open their sealed SN containers but this seemed necessary for me. I just had to do it in a sterile, cool, dry environment quickly so I have nothing to worry about.

Just wondering - why did you write "sodium nitrite" on the repackaged bags?

I mean, you packaged it, so you know what's inside. I know it doesn't matter either way and idk your living situation but it seems like an unnecessary risk to expose the contents like that, if there's even a small chance of someone finding it.

I have a lots of raw materials/chemicals around since I do science shit.
I use the same packets for my other meds so they're not really suspicious in my current living condition. Plus, sn is not very well known here.

I don't see any issue with repacking if one plans to use it immediately. But if it's to be kept for years like many here choose, I think it's better left untouched in it's original package.
Mine is a 100gm bag, now 80 since i have opened it twice. It's taped back at the opening and triple bagged. I'm planning on taking it with me along with the scale and measure and mix everything in the hotel room. I find that more comforting than taking a pre measured sn and water for some reason...

That's true! It's a good idea to just keep it sealed for people who want to keep it long term.

Had to repack mine bc I am using it before this year ends. I'll also be on the move so it comforts me to have it prepared this way. Just making sure I'm prepared wherever/whenever I decide to ctb.

Mine is in the original unopened packs. Wrapped up in a microfibre cloth and put inside an airtight food container. Not sure why I wrapped it in the cloth. Maybe to protect it from sunlight- even though it's in a cupboard. (The packaging has a clear front.) It's only me here though. Not like someone else will see it and be curious.

It's weirdly like well cared for treasure though I suppose. Occasionally, I look at it and hope it's my way out of here.

Yeah, I certainly feel like I look at it more often than I normally should. I feel a sense of assurance in a way.

I put mine into one of these vacuum cloth bags and then just threw it in the drawer.

This is smart, then you can hide 2 packs just in case of a wellness check or things like that.

How did you reseal the packets? Are the packets sealed with air inside them? When the packets were open, air would have gotten inside. Did you use some kind of vaccum sealer to get the air out?

I actually second Crescendo here..I don't see the need to name them at all. And taking them with you seems like a big risk. Not sure where you live, but what if you get stopped like in a traffic stop or your vehicle gets searched or something. It just seems like inviting trouble 🙁. Sorry I understand why you'd like to carry it with you but I'd rather be safe than take risks and end up losing either its potency or access to it.

I'd definitely test the SN in the resealable bags if I were to use them before CTB. If they turned out not to be good enough, I'd also have an unopened pack of SN to fall back on in case the worst happens.

Disclaimer: Scientist here

It's a ziplock pack. Very little air inside. I'm not too concerned about this because I'll be using it soon, before the year ends. We know this substance is actually very stable when stored properly. It's very hygroscopic, moisture will accelerate it's decomposition but I'm confident with my containment.

I understand the concerns about being seized but we live in a completely different settings. Those are first world problems. I've travelled a lot with lots of sketchy stuff with me in the past bc my work was science related. Never had anything confiscated. This is a third world country where we carry high concentrated sulphuric acid on public vehicles while on commute. Sounds absurd but I think you would know by now that third world countries aren't for begginers. No one really cares. Safety is optional.

Again, I had to label it since I use the same pack for other stuff, I have many other chemicals lying around and of course I'll still conceal it when I decided to travel with it. I usually travel by bus or sea and no thorough search is implemented for both.

Furthermore, if for some reason the police or other people see this, they wouldn't care at all. Buying SN here is super easy. It's either they aren't familiar with SN or knows that it's used only for curing meat. There has only been one published case of SN suicide fatality in my country which happened recently. The reports are published just last year, in a scientific journal. Nothing in the news. So you can just imagine how clueless the mass is about the use of sn for ctb. Wellness check about SN never happens.

Thank you everyone, for the concerns but those don't really apply here. I expected these kind of reactions before I posted it so it's nice to see some kind of discussions are going on.

Glad to know that you know what you're doing. I live in a third world country too so I can understand how no one really cares. I just thought you might be living in a place where those kinds of intrusive checks may happen. I'd still test the SN before CTB just to be sure..
