Hi. I'm new to the forum and have a question regarding the SN method.

My plan is to use the Stat Dose but, due to time constraints, getting hold of an antiemetic will not be possible for me, so I'll only have an antacid (Milk of Magnesia) and paracetamol. As such, I need to try and minimise the possibility of vomiting as much as I can.

I have seen that SN dosage is dependent on weight, and I'm around 50kg. Given this, and that I have no antiemetic, would it be better for me to lower the amount of SN to 15g rather than 20g (still in 50ml water)?

I intend to prepare 2 or 3 drinks on the night so that I have backups in case I do vomit, anyway, but I want to try and lower the risk a little.

Quite a few people have succeeded in CTB with SN without antiemetics. The purpose of them isn't just to prevent vomiting, it's to speed up stomach emptying so the sodium nitrite transfers to your intestines ASAP. Even if you vomit, it won't completely empty your stomach's contents.

Also, milk of magnesia is used often as a mild laxative and will (mildly at least) fulfill the aforementioned role of the antiemetics to a certain extent as well as acting as an antacid.

Go to pharmacies. Ask for Reglan (or whatever it is called in your country - metoclopramide hydrochloride). Maybe at some pharmacies they will just give it to you, just like that, without prescription.
Although this medication is prescription only in my country, I just went to the pharmacy and asked for it. And the pharmacist just gave it to me.

Thank you. Good to know. I noticed that some people succeeded without antiemetics and some people took antiemetics and vomited anyway. I guess I'll see on the night.

I really don't have the time to do this, unfortunately.

I'm 100% sure. I've done a lot of reading and research, and a lot of thinking. If my wording gave off the impression I wasn't sure I might just be tired, it's quite late right now.

Thank you. I'm really glad I found this forum. I don't think I've ever seen such kind and compassionate people in my life, and I'm glad I was able to.

Ok I'm sorry but this is not true according to Stans guide.

Thank you for this. Well, according to the lookup table 15g should be enough, and given that people taking 25g seem more likely to vomit, it's implied that 15g should have the opposite effect. Just wish I knew for definite.

Stan used milk of magnesia himself, he also used buccastem M as an antiemetic. My point is that you don't need antiemetics to die from SN, it just makes it smoother. What I said is actually accurate, that is the purpose of the antiemetics.

Check online pharmacies they will probably sell it to you. Any of the Antiemtics that is listed in stans guide will work.
Also i'm not sure. however Benzocaine is noted for removing gag reflex since it's an anesthetic. So it could work sort of as an anitmetic. it is also noted that it will induce methemoglobinemia. Which is what SN does. So perhaps it is an alternative to SN.

Antacids are the least important part of SN . (but may be used)

There is no currently known practice of taking 15g SN . This is not something that had been documented .

100kg+ = 25g several servings (Stan) , or one single 30g (PPH)
Otherwise = 20g several servings (Stan) , or one single 25g (PPH)

Got it. Thank you. I'll go with 20g then.

Just wanted to update this for anyone in a similar position to me who is working with time constraints and can't get meto or similar in the UK. I did some more reading and found this thread, which suggests Buccastem M as an alternative (it was also suggested here, thank you @jgm63 for posting that). I was able to get a packet over the counter this morning, which was my only window.

Thanks everyone again.

I have a question related to sn as well - does the water need to be warm so that sn dissolves properly?

I have the same question. Cause in my case the Sn I have comes in granules and I think it said that needs warm water to dissolve somehow.
If anyone expert in this matter could answer, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

No , I mean warm water from the tap. Not using a microwave to warm it up or anything.
If not how how can I dissolve it , then?

The answer is the same:) No need to warm, and DO NOT heat it. It dissolves in water at room temperature level just fine.

When I get my SN how do I test to know it's good?

Unless there's something super questionable about it, it's probably not necessary to test it.
