To reduce the chance of tasting the SN, just throw your head back and pour it straight into your throat. This is how I see people doing shots in a bar (heck even in movies). SN isn't something that you want to taste, unlike a good scotch or wine that you swish around in your mouth. People who are trying to drink shots to get drunk toss their heads back and pour it right in.

A funnel may be of potential use.
If you're not used to drinking through a funnel, it can be hard to control the flow rate, which puts you at a high risk of choking on the liquid.

In addition, with the bottom of a funnel being a lot bigger and possibly harder than a straw, you'll more likely touch the roof of your mouth, the back of your tongue, the area around your tonsils, or the back of your throat - touching or compressing any of those areas can trigger gag reflex.

Why is drinking some water after to wash the taste away not allowed? Can I, say, dissolve 22g SN in 40ml water and then drink 10ml of water after? Would appreciate the help. Thanks!
If you just wanna wash the taste away after drinking SN, why not just gargle water or mouthwash in your mouth and then spit it out? Am I missing something here? @Quarky00

No wonder you're bloody suicidal.
I'm sure the bug herbal soup doesn't contribute to me being bloody suicidal. It might contribute to me being a whimsically inventive wacko - poison from scorpions perhaps. But hey, I take my antidepressants with either alcohol or coffee, so who knows.

@quarter and @nitrogen , ty for the diagram n all!! Excuse me while I go cut my wrists with a plastic spoon...Smartness overload..Luv u both

You make cutting your wrists with a plastic spoon sound as casual as taking a dump.

gargle water or mouthwash
Gargle salt water, good for gingivitis!

Anything will do. As long as you don't ingest too much or irritate stomach. When it comes to taste Ami > N > SN – so get over it (sorry lol).
  • N – the holy grail, is horribly bitter (more distasteful than SN) and chocolate is the practice.
  • Amitriptyline – considered most horrible of all. It's really vicious, mixed with honey.

You sir, are so naughty. Well, guess what. Listerine Total Care Anticavity Fluoride mouthwash is also good for gingivitis, AND (supposedly) prevents cavities, restores enamel, kills bad breath germs, freshens breath.

@SpaceForGrace I'd say stay away from gargling your mouth with anything that you can relate to food after drinking SN, such as chocolate milk, chicken broth, etc. The thought, sight, taste, smell of food will trigger a gush of the release of gastric juice. PS, you'll likely be starving by the time you drink SN due to fasting, so your stomach would be extra sensitive to the stimuli. The hydrochloric acid in the gastric juice reacts with SN and converts it to regular salt, thus reduces the amount of SN moved into the small intestine and its absorption into the bloodstream.

Do you have a graph for freezing Listerine? I'm not doing anything anymore without your graphs.

100% true, but I wonder, since antacid was 'least significant' , and we have H2 blockers , and SN flows rather quickly , maybe we can be less strict. Surely stomach shouldn't be active or in digestion (pH~2) , but we take 20g how much would stomach acidity convert? (dunno wondering myself:) --

The antacid is there primarily to stop the conversion of SN into other chemical compounds. One of these compounds is regular table salt. Having a large amount of regular salt can produce some stomach discomfort. The minimum dose now recommended (20gm of SN) is well over twice the amount needed to kill you. Even if your stomach converted 1gm of SN into something else, there is a huge amount of SN left to give you the desired effect. So if antacid is a real concern, then don't or use a very simple otc like milk of magnesia which does not interact with prescription drugs. But if members are concerned about taking the antiemetic with antacids then don't take the antacid.

Come on nitro , research HCl for us crazy people :blarg:

I don't have a graph for freezing mouthwash, but I have plenty of images that can make you go blind or make your head explode.

but we take 20g how much would stomach acidity convert? (dunno wondering myself:)
I suppose the amount and concentration of HCL in people's tummies vary greatly among individuals. The factors off the top of my mind are how long they fast before taking SN (the longer they fast the more acid accumulates), time of the day they take the SN (basal secretion rate of gastric acid is slower during sleep), when their last meal was, the content of their last meal, whether they watch food porn during fasting, their gastrointestinal function, their metabolic rate, anxiety level, etc. I guess to those who vomit multiple times after drinking SN, the more SN gets absorbed, the better; so if there are ways to increase the amount of SN that reaches the small intestines, why not just do it - it's not like gargling with chicken broth is so much better than mouthwash anyway.

Come on nitro , research HCl for us crazy people :blarg:
Not gonna spend my time doing that research. I'm not prone to vomiting and taking antiacids isn't a concern for me. Don't you notice people aren't checking out this thread but instead keep posting their stupid questions that can be answered by this thread? Even the OP of this thread disappeared long ago. Since you're a much nicer person than me, tag you're it. :sunglasses:

A lot of taste comes from smells as well. Hold your nose when you swallow and it will make it more bearable. Next time you eat hold your nose and you'll have less taste.

Ive always wondered why nobody suggests tbis it seems so obvious !
