SN “feeding tube” administration?

Why don't people take SN with a tube and syringe, and the tube goes down your throat?

I am personally someone who never had trouble with a gag reflex so maybe that's why I can see this as possible for me to do.

Any thoughts/opinions?

(I would trim the tube to make it the ideal length)

Edit: a possible problem could be that maybe some liquid accidentally goes down the windpipe ?

But what if you put the tube very far down your throat? Past the windpipe opening?

Is that too hard to get right?

If you know what your doing probably, but when people have to administrate this to them selfs because of longtime care at home they use some sort of test if it is administated correctly. They extract some liquid from the tube and test the ph. If the ph is under 5,5 then it is stomic fluids because they are acid, then you know its placed the right way

I was just gonna make it so the tube goes past my Adam's apple and then while I'm inserting it down my throat, I will swallow so it closes off my windpipe.
