Story Skiing

I ski a lot in the winter. When I was in school, there used to be ski clubs where me and my small group of close friends would all join and just have the times of our fuckin' lives skiing together. My particular reason for being here is emotional numbness, and I only ever feel for myself when I'm skiing with my friends. It's the best feeling ever. There's really nothing better than the crisp air, the speed, freeness, starry sky... I had a speaker I'd clip to a crossbody bag so we could play songs as we went down. It was truly amazing. But it's a curse, too. Whenever it's not ski season, I'm left longing for it, miserable and wanting to kill myself, it's not because I'm not skiing, it's just that skiing makes me not want to kill myself for a while. I guess you could call it my happy place. Anyway, just wanted to get that down somewhere. Feel free to ignore me! Love and peace, everyone

skiing is a lot of fun the few times i tried it.. i quickly learned that stopping is a lot harder than going, and that if i start losing control then i want to fall to the side in to the snow early before i start gaining too much speed uncontrollably..

a lot of the kids were skiing and snowboarding better than i was, i guess because they have had more practice..

ironically i got hot in the suit thing i had on that they gave me, so i had it unzipped down a fair way to try to cool off..

have you ever tried snowboarding? i never did and only tried skiing, but some british guy i met at the ski place was telling me how he loved snowboarding and telling me i should try it, but in the same breath he is also telling me he broke his back from some snowboarding accident, so that kind of made me not want to even try it..

I haven't, actually! I've always wanted to though. My sister does, and she's alright, but couldn't really keep up with me and my friends and couldn't use her front edge when we did the clubs like I said. Getting hot in the equipment is so real, there was a night I was skiing in just snow pants and and a sweater with the sleeves rolled up. And yeah, falling is a good stopping method, especially on steeper hills. I took a nasty tumble down a diamond last season lol. Glad you had fun skiing too
