I really want to know if It's a good idea to do so or just leave without saying anything when the time has come.

The only thing I would worry about having a suicide letter is that it'll have the risk of being found early when I'm still alive. And if that happens, I would have to explain myself which I cannot handle.

I think you have to do what's best for you as this is a very personal choice.

However, I will add that If you want maybe to have a certain way how everything should be handled once you are gone then I can understand with things like funeral arrangements or your belongings etc…

But as for your reasons of committing suicide you will need to make that decision yourself if there is anyone that you think will need to know why you would have made such a decision then you can let them know.

All the best.

I've thought to myself a bit, and I think It's best for me to let them know why I would do this. Since I am the one causing trouble to everyone, and I want it to end for them so they can stop worrying about me. If I disapear without telling them anything, the risk is that the situation would be worse.

you can program an email to be sent in the future if you're worried about your letter being found too early

Yeah I agree with actually there was a girl who scheduled her Instagram suicide note before committing suicide and when the post was published she was already gone.

It's up to you what you should do, when it comes to topics like this it's a personal decision. Nobody is owed an explanation but it could mean that those left behind are less likely to be left with as many unanswered questions.

Not everyone deserves closure, so leaving a letter that could be potentially seen by someone you don't want to see, is something to think about.

There's only a handful of people in my life that I feel should know my reasons for dying. The rest can shed their crocodile tears at the funeral.

^This.

It's your life. I don't think anyone deserves an explanation. I myself thought about writing a letter before I do it, but when I think about how I can't control who reads the letter, I dropped the idea. I don't want strangers irl to read it, nor do I want my abusive parents to read it (i live away from them but i'm assuming that they would get to read the letter after i die, which i wouldn't want to happen).

I'm doing a scheduled send for my letter via gmail. So I'll schedule it for a few hours post ctb so no one will find me. I went to a funeral for someone that ctb last month and his parents were talking about all this "oh it was a split decision, he wasn't really that unhappy" etc etc and I just can't stand the idea of ambiguity in my death.

I like the idea of writing down what you want done with your belongings. I would want my car sold, and all my stuff can go in a storage unit. I don't care if it ends up getting tossed or whatever cause the bill isn't being paid, cause that's literally the same thing that happened with 85% of my childhood belongings so I'd rather stick with the theme lmao. My only request for my funeral is that they bury me in a nightgown, cause I want it to be like I'm sleeping

I think that's a personal decision you should make, however, if i were you, i would not leave a suicide letter because this would potentially cause problems, such as people interffering with my plans, and also i would want to be forgotten

It is a very personal descision, if there are people in your life who you care about, writing them letters or somehow communicating to them that it was your descision and it wasn't their fault can prevent them from developing incredible guilt and anguish from your suicide. If you write physical letters then yes they have the chance of being found, and I'm guessing by your title that that would be a really bad thing. As others have suggested you can schedule emails to be sent out in the future. Maybe create an account no one but you knows about and use that account to schedule your letters to go out if you choose to make them?

so you still care for your family right? like enough to want them to know why you're gone?

I want them to understand better why I did it, so lies and stuff won't spread about some people I know and all that.

It is up to you, but a letter could be a good idea for if you have any personal things that you want to tell a specific person. Nobody that I know in real life deserves a letter from me, but I'm only writing a short general letter stating what drove me to this (my death), and that I want to be buried in certain clothes and on top of my Mum. I hope this helps💗

I agree with FC here, one's choice of method and prep is all just they're choice, there is no definitive answer to the question only recommendations.

Personally I will be writing a note to give some answers for people though at this point it wouldn't be the most surprising thing to happen.

I agree with this, kind of funny. I don't plan on writing any stupid letter, I have a tactic that will make anyone wonder what happened for a month until they finally figure it out.
