I basically want to hear people's thoughts on the above question. My plan is to drown myself in the middle of the night, while intoxicated to help with SI and pain, in a large lake that's right by a street of homes.

Should I be worried about the possibility of splashing too loudly/making involuntary noises that might wake nearby people and alert them to someone drowning? I obviously don't want to get caught in the act and "rescued."

Water absorbs absolutely all sounds that you will make when attempting ctb. In addition, you will be drunk and can always justify to vigilant citizens that you are simply in a good mood and decided to go swimming. A successful drowning is a very quiet matter.

I've had the same worry but you can just sneak out at night when you know people will be asleep like around midnight
