i'm not even going to describe how excited I was for it because that would take forever.

but it's my second week in and I already despise it. I hate the building, the people, the daily commute through public transport (i'm 20 and I don't have a car lol).
it just makes me feel 10 times worse on an average day.

I think my main problem is that I still feel like a child. I want to feel like an adult.
I was thinking about finding a full time job at some gas station and then renting a crappy apartment in the city. That way I could leave my parents' home for the time being (they are largely responsible for the fuck-up I am today), learn to drive, have more time for hobbies, especially the gym and just find myself in general. Hopefully feel like an adult.
Is there anyone else that did something similar?

to an extent this was always the kind of life I wanted to try out at least for a while. It sounds crappy but in a blissful kinda way.
Working a crappy 9-5 job, going back to my own crappy flat and doing whatever I want because it's mine.

obviously this would be until I figure out what I want to do with my life. Maybe for a year or two or three. Eventually I would hope to go back to college or learn a trade. But I really want to feel that freedom for some time at least.

Dropped out of college when I was 17. Next thing I know I'm 35 and have done nothing. I can't drive either. Just saying

Although I did it after finishing uni, there's plenty of people doing it before and I think I should have done it before too. That's taking a year off and go on a Working Holiday Visa to Australia. I arrived there with 200$ in my pockets and within a year, I had made tons of friends, stacks of money and a some girlfriends. Also learned to surf. Definitively the best time of my life. I worked in forestry, planting trees and it's the most liberating experience ever, being in the Australian outback in the middle of wilderness, contributing to a good cause. I'd 100% recommend you something like this. I've heard they're opening border in 2022 so you'd have some time to gather some money. All the best mate !

Depends on what you're studying.

Dropping out of college will severely reduce your chances of having a good job with a good payment.

It seems cool to have a job, rent an apartment and do whatever you want.
But in the end, you will have a crappy boss, a crappy wage, a crappy schedule, a crappy health insurance.
You will finish your day completely tired, not enough energy to do most of things you want to do when you get back to your apartment. That is: If you're not kept overtime on the job because your boss simply can make you stay there as long as he wants.

You will struggle to find something better because of the lack of job opportunities especially without a diploma.

Maybe enduring this time will give you a better tomorrow. It's not guaranteed, but it's almost guaranteed that if you leave, you will be off for a very difficult lifestyle.

It's your own choice, of course. And again, it depends on what you're studying. I have finished college and got nothing.
But it's still good to go when you're young. Later it will be much more difficult, especially having to work.

Anyway. It should be good to see job opportunities on your career and most importantly if you really like what you will do on the future.

It's not a bad plan, but you should make sure you don't get stuck in that life. That's probably what's gonna happen to me if I'm not gonna ctb before 2022. You need to make sure this is not all there is, that you're gonna find a way to get a degree or a career. Been living on myself for a year now but I still feel like a kid, like my head's still in high school. But I've heard stories from friends and family where living by themselves helped them a lot. Good luck with everything <3

Since you're asking for opinions, I don't think you should drop out of college. You seem to have a grass is greener mentality which is understandable but I'm afraid that if you dropped out for some dead end job you'd be just as dissatisfied, if not more. For one, you'd probably be told what to do all day. So please persevere for a while with college. If by any chance you have ADHD you may be able to get treatment for it (just a suspicion that you might have it, not trying to diagnose). Anyway IMO two weeks in is far too soon to give up on college. Give yourself time to learn and to try making friends.
