Method Should a .22 short and SN do its job?

I have my sn in storage but I was given the opportunity to get a pistol, due to my economic level it is the only thing I can get, I understand that aiming at the brainstem should be lethal, I imagine that aiming at the temple, between the level of the eyes and the ear should be fine, is it worth it?

Please don't answer me that I should buy a higher caliber, I know a .32 or .38 at least, but it's not within my reach although I'm still looking.

There are YouTube videos on the lethality of a .22 round. I have a .22 rifle and with the proper placement I'm sure it is lethal from 0 to 100 yards or more.

If you're going to use a .22, I would at least use an LR round. .22s are small bullets and shorts are usually subsonic. They're fine against soft targets, but MAY not pierce one's skull. I could be wrong, of course. Better to be certain.

Most .22s I've ever seen can take either shorts or long rifle, even if you have to just slide the round into the chamber manually. At least that way you might be able to still use the gun you already have.

Assuming we are talking about a 22 lr from a long rifle versus a 9mm from a handgun, the 22 does have higher average muzzle velocity but far less kinetic energy

i meant a .22 handgun vs a .22 rifle . the rifle produces more velocity .power and energy

but in general . i would use the most powerful rifle or shotgun i can handle and aim . the chart below shows for example a 9mm handgun with energy of 362 vs a 300 winmag rifle 3548 energy. this is the energy that could be exploded in the head or brain. it's almost 10 times what the handgun is for around the same price. the downside of a rifle or shotgun is they are longer and harder to aim for ctb purposes and also harder to transport and hide for ctb purposes. but a 9mm handgun is usually lethal . 3500 foot pounds will explode the head , in fact anything over 2700 foot pounds will explode the head. 2400 ft lbs of energy could explode the head . Some shotguns or rifle ammo could reach the magic 2700 and above energy for example magnum 12 gauge slugs

a .22 handgun shows 135 foot pounds so i wouldn't use that but even those have been lethal in suicide. i saw 90% of gun suicide attempts are lethal and many of those are .22 handguns. so a 300 win mag do people think they will survive if hit head?

90% of gun suicide attemps are fatal. many use .22 handguns and are inexperienced with guns or even where to aim and none practice massive dry firing to not flinch but still 90%. so imo if i practice dry firing and do the above i woulld be sucessful in my attempt to escape this hell....

A .22 with 135 of energy has been lethal so the most powerful shotguns or rifles aren't 3000 very unlikely to fail imo

2700? I thought it would be like 1500 since a 00 buckshot with 9 pellets has a muzzle velocity of 1700 ft lbs and it will definitely explode the head, but it might be because of the differences in shotgun vs rifle cartridges assuming those numbers for skull explosion are correct.

Imo it's just physics. The head cannot stay together after a certain amount of energy is exploded on it

Do you think a 10mm bullet fired out of a rifle (roughly 800-900 ft lbs) can cause the head to explode? I personally don't think so because it's a pistol round even though it's pretty powerful, it'll just leave a big hole in my head.

It might be more than 900 ft pounds . Seems kinda low for a 10 mm rifle. Depends on ammo and barrel length.

The ammunition sometimes doesn't list the barrel length they tested it with. They could of tested it with a handgun . So a rifle will be much more velocity and energy

I have a calculator that can calculate ft lbs if it's given the muzzle velocity and the bullet weight (grains), a carbine rifle increases the velocity by about 200 fps and the advertised velocity for the ammo I got is 1300 therefore I'd be getting 1500 fps out of the rifle, the advertised muzzle energy is 676 ft lbs but since it's 180 grains the calculator estimates I'd get 900 ft lbs. It's definitely more than enough to be lethal but it won't make my head explode which is good because I don't want it to explode.

What ammo and barrel length ?

Underwood ammo 180 grain jhp xtp, my rifle barrel length is 16 inches and I'm pretty sure underwood tests their ammo out of 5 or 6 inch barrel handguns.
