So far I've learned it's possible, but with some caveats:

  • It CAN'T be peaceful: It either must be violent, sudden, bloody or everything
  • It will be painful: so far, no ideas that can make the "acciental" CTB painless, apparently every idea involves suffering at some point
  • Your body will be found mangled or at least in a very bad position. This can also be true about hanging though
What are your thoughts? Is there a way to make the accident believable and not necessarily horrible to endure?

Not neccessarily! I know someone died in winter time by using the generator inside his garage not even the house. After a while I heard he wasnt happy so it could be suicide but up to date his family thinks it was an accident along with the police. They found him sleeping no bruise or anything he looked in peace.

That sounds horrific, why do you want to die in such a barbaric way?

There are peaceful ways that can look accidental or misadventure/open verdict.

Drowning comes to mind. Lots of people die "accidentally" by drowning every year. I'm sure most are actually accidents. Not sure how painful it is. Not really sure how it rates on the "peacefulness" scale, either. It's not bloody, though.

Someone proposed an idea a while ago involving staging a scuba accident. Essentially you have two tanks, one with oxygen and one with nitrogen. Then underwater you switch air supply to the nitrogen and supposedly ctb under the waves. This is essentially painless but would require a highly motivated individual since diving in it self is adrenaline intensive.

This is a highly expensive method and is realistically only for those who already dive regularly, but it's possible. Also depending on how thorough the investigation is they may find nitrogen in the oxygen tank. The body itself will not show any signs.

Not sure what you mean by "collapse". Why would your lungs "collapse" if they're filled up with water? I couldn't find any data to support that contention. I did find some mentioning air passageways having spasms, but that's not the same thing. Most people who (fatally) drown go into cardiac arrest from hypoxia. How painful is a heart attack? I have no idea. Honestly, with all the criteria you mention in your original posting, your options are quite limited, if there are any at all.

Dying from smoke inhalation from a fire would be an option. Plenty of accidental fires happen all the time, you just have to set it up so that a fire inspector wouldn't classify it as arson.

My background is in ag and I've never met a dumb or impulsive botanist. I think you might have a hard time getting people to think you were susceptible to the usual suspects like CO poisoning, accidents based on recklessness, equipment failures, etc. Not saying that accidents can't happen to anyone but who tf puts a generator in the garage? See what I mean?

At that point that is to complicated , if I'm going to die i do not wish to sufer any longer, especially during my last moments. personally I'd hire someone to do the job for me, getting yourself all bloody and mangled by yourself is a hard task to achieve with ones will power. Hire someone to shoot you maybe once making that he instant and painless death, and after you are dead have them beat your corpse and look like you struggled. That's what I'd go for.

Go to the Gym or buy a benchpress and load up more weights than you can handle and do what this guy did:

why would you want to make it look like an accident tho? to get $$$ from insurance companies? if you have a partner in crime you could ctb by a "peaceful" method like overdose and have your body thrown over a cliff or into a river so it looks like an accident. in that case i dont think an autopsy would be performed since the cause of death appears obvious

Accidental drug overdoes (mostly opioid) kill over 100,000 people every year in the US.
If it was me and I was trying to make it look like an accident, that's what I'd do

Hitman isn't bad, actually. Here's money, just come up behind me randomly and shoot me in the head.

It's very different for the people who know you if you die by accident or suicide. If it's suicide they will blame themselves and spend forever thinking about what they could've done differently.

I will go by hypothermia out in the wilderness. I won't try to hide the fact that it's deliberate, but it would be easy to do so if I wanted to. Every year hundreds of people die that way accidentally.

My grandad died by suicide.. He drowned himself and the the police said he must of fell into the dam and couldn't get back out. We only know it was a suicide due to him leaving a note.

regardless, drowning is still an incredibly painful way to die. unless you attach weights to yourself u will instinctually try to come up for air. it'd be better to be extremely drunk and on benzos if you wanted to go out by drowning yourself. being barely conscious like that would help
