as someone who's been numbed by SSRI's for years, and then forced to get off of them and experience emotions, i hate being sensitive.

there's no true answer to this, because everyone feels differently. but from personal experience, it's more of a curse than anything. i can barely go through therapy sessions without crying, i get overwhelmed very easily and embarassing myself, and i can't simply 'suck it up' anymore. it's like i'm relearning how to function from the years of being numb. i desperately wish i could go back to being on my old meds.

however, being sensitive means you can more easily experience happiness and pleasure. it all depends on your outlook on life. would you rather be numb, or have lower lows and higher highs?

It depends..i rlly long to have the emotional fortitude necessary to accommodate my own sensitivity. But for now it just pains me 🥲 i think if i had the fortitude to roll w the extremities of my own emotions there's a chance id see it as a gift. Maybe
