Could this be possible? If someone purposely, by hand, vigorously "thrashed" their carotid (one of em, at least), would it be enough to cause a dissection, and potentially, a stroke?

I've heard that that's happened to people messaging their carotids, as well as people after hanging attempts, or after being strangled. It just seems to me that if that's possible, then surely it'd be possible if done with intent, by hand?

Anyone with any medical knowledge that might have an answer for this hypothetical?

Need to have extreme luck based shots or extreme precision it's very unlikely. SI is a fucking beast and the amount of pain is very agonizing.

What pain? And SI? From messing with the carotids? Not that I've experienced

I am currently considering finding a way to make cutting work as a method, but oh boy, I could never ever take a knife near my head/neck. I don't think this will be doable, especially because they are quite deep I think.

This isn't by taking a knife to the neck, this is just by hand simulation. And they aren't that deep, you can feel them and push against them hard to enough to close them off quite easily.

A dissection isn't cutting them. A dissection is just them being injured enough internally that a blood clot ends up being formed inside the artery.

But that won't kill you reliably.. Arteries are quite thick and rigid, especially in younger people.. At most you will be able to press against them until you black out (at which point you will no longer be applying pressure and regain consciousness again)..

Also the primary death from what you just said, would be blot clots I think..

A stroke caused by this, would also most likely just impair you permanently, without killing you, which would be horrendous..
