Venting School is torture that sets you up for lifelong suffering.

It's safe to say that most people here have terrible memories of school, and for good reason. School is literally torture for the sake of it. You are not taught anything useful, which will haunt you as an adult when you don't have any survival skills, but you definitely are: bullied, controlled, restricted, taunted, punished and mistreated. Almost nothing that you learn has any purpose, but you are punished severely if you don't learn it well enough, which causes many people trauma as an adult. The entire school system is designed like a prison: as little freedom as possible, pointless rituals, and pain/suffering being the objective. It is insane that anyone remembers school positively when it's literally ritualistic torture designed exclusively to make wage slaves. Most bad memories I have are school-related and it's painful to know that there are a lot of people having to suffer through it all the time.

Yea :< While I would say school does have some purpose with hings like writing, reading, basic math. Its been much more of a negative for me and definitely for many others. While I am lucky to not have been bullied (others mostly ignored me), all of the work we had to do for long amounts of time was stressful and monotonous. And to make it worse for me I am more anxious about teachers getting mad or disappointed in me. It never felt safe to me and I just wanted to go home but I would still have to worry about the next day at home. I still have nightmares of it despite it being years since I went there. I wonder how much of me has been permanently negatively effected by school. I don't understand why we have to go through something so terrible in our formative years (well aside from others don't care about anyone truly.)

I have so much to say about school that I'm struggling to begin typing out my thoughts on it right now. Other than that the current school system in my country sucks and fuck it. The way it exists is completely broken and just a torture chamber for many students. I feel quite scarred by my own experiences there. No way all that stress and suffering as a mere child didn't have a long term effect on me.
