Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

My abusive brother has locked himself in his room. He hasn't opened the door in hours now. We weren't arguing or anything, he just fell asleep. His phone is switched off too. The washroom is attached to his room so we needed to get in. We all tried knocking loudly, and well, it's embarassingly noisy. We live in a third floor apartment so the sound travels to the ground floor especially in the dead of night. It's 1.18 am, and my parents are yelling loudly too.

I am happy I don't go out much, honestly- Idk how to face my neighbours. My family makes so much noise daily it kills me. Some swearing and abusive language. I wish they weren't this uncouth and embarassing.

I know it wouldn't help at 1am, but during the day is there a way to get away from the house and go to a quieter, safer place like a library or community center?

I live in a house with an abuser and look forward to the work week because I can spend the day at my toxic workplace, which is preferable than my domicile.

Wishing you the best. And just because the people that cohabitate with you have issues, doesn't necessarily mean others in your building ascribe the situation to you. They might see you as a victim and have some empathy to a situation that's not your doing.
