We are living in hell. Not going to there.

Reminds me of the old chestnut 'Religion is for those afraid of hell, spirituality is for those who have already been there.'

Hell is a man made religious construct to keep people in line and keep them ignorant. You are already in hell. It is called earth.

im not religious but what if the old tales are true and heaven and hell exist? i dont want go to hell but hell is better than forever darkness, darkness is hell for me there is not a win for me i just want to end the pain
I think we are already in Hell, however, it´s not impossible that CTB could lead to an even lesser realm than this if one is to believe in karma or sins in some way. This needs research, but since we are talking about post-death information, it´s not precisely easy to obtain.

In particular, I believe to an extent that if you die with a very negative mindset, if there is anything to New Age ideas or Buddhism, you would land in a place even worse than this. But if you CTB peacefully and without traumatizing anyone these fears would be unwarranted.

That what I was thinking and It matches to things you can read in NDE reports. But even If It is not a problem the question remains: how to never come back here?

i'm afraid of going to hell too, even though i don't believe in it. i don't think that people go to hell for committing suicide, but i feel like i'm an awful person and if it were to exist i'd go just because i'm terrible.

Absolutely the same thoughts.

Don't worry, the only hell there is, is this life. We are a biochemical accident. And when we die, we are gone gone, never to be seen again. Go in peace.

In college one of my art history professors told us that suicide wasn't considered a sin until the cathedrals were being first built. Apparently there were so many accidental deaths that the church had to encourage the workers by telling them they would go straight to heaven if the died working on such a holy endeavor. What happened was a bunch of suicides by workers thinking they would go straight to heaven so the church declared suicide a sin only then. I have not heard anything like this since however and I've had other professors pass on faulty info so who knows.

"Hell" was an innovation of Egypt's Middle Kingdom, after the Old Kingdom (the bosses who built the pyramids) broke down in 2181 BC. The priests needed a better set of mythologies to keep people in line paying their taxes and obeying the Pharaoh, and this totally made-up story worked like a charm! It was for the purpose of controlling people

So these priests didn't really believe any of it, but believed, like modern atheists, that death is simply the extinction of the individual? How remarkable, that they actually thought exactly like us.

In fact, the Bible nowhere teaches that heaven is the reward of the saved or that an ever-burning hell is the destiny of the condemned.
Except in the book of Revelation. It does, actually. If you're seriously interested in refuting this bullshit, you're going to have to read at least a little of it, unfortunately.

What I was trying to say in a succinct way when I stated: "In fact, the Bible nowhere teaches that heaven is the reward of the saved or that an ever-burning hell is the destiny of the condemned." is that is not taught in the Old Testament nor is it what Jesus taught in the New Testament. The Book of Revelation was not written by Jesus, nor does it contain any of His teachings.

The Book of Revelation is full of controversy and doubt as to whether it should have ever been included in the Christian canon or not. Early church leaders at the time became convinced that it was written by the same author as the Gospel of John, one of the disciples of Jesus, despite the fact that the author of the Gospel of John does NOT tell us his name, but the author of Revelation DOES claim to be someone named John. But when reading the original Greek text, it is clear that it was not the same John who wrote the Gospel of John. This was demonstrated by a 3rd-century church father proving it was not written by the same John. This was shown by the fact that the writer of Revelation did not write Greek very well, with many grammatical mistakes, etc... compared to the Greek text of the Gospel of John. So the writing styles are very different from each other indicating different people wrote them. This was around the year 367 AD by Athanasius, the Bishop of Alexandria, Egypt, when all 27 books of the NT were put together. Revelation was the 27th and final book to be included, "...but just barely", according to Princeton University professor of religion, Elaine Pagels.

If hell is where suicidal people go... there's really no hope for this universe at all. Why would they put kind souls in eternal suffering... because they wanted to suffering to stop? everyone here deserves to have peace. I always wish people that leave this plane of existence the best... my hopes and love will be with them, they don't need to feel afraid. Regarless of what you decide to do, i'm thinking of you

I fear life, not death. I do have knowledge of religion. I do know the thoughts of Hell. In many views, Hell is separation from the light of God. It is to be beyond the mercy of God and the hope of salvation. I think anyone who thinks themselves a burden on others and as unworthy already feels that they reside in Hell. When the demon Mephistopheles in the story of Faust was asked why he was not in hell, he replied with something to the effect of "Wherever I am is my Hell."
If you fear Hell, then it might be said that you can imagine how things might be worse. If you can imagine things worse than what you have now, then you might also imagine what things might be better. There is hope in this and it might serve as a sign that it is not your time to go, but rather to work to improve this life of yours.

If the old words are true, then I have long suspected there be no salvation for me. My devotion is somewhat in spite of myself, but it resides still within me. I have a feeling that, much like in the case of my manner of demise, I know what awaits me. It's a long story that I won't go into here.

I hope you find peace.

P.S. For those who don't understand why SOME people consider taking one's own life as a sin, it is because it rejects the plan of creation. If someone believes in the goodness of God, then they would have to believe in the goodness of creation. To deny the beauty of life through pessimism and ending their life, they would then be rejecting belief in their Creator. I'm not saying this is true. But, it is also how people point to faith in God as a remedy for depression.

Of course, others would consider taking one's own life a sign of mental illness and call it illogical while exempting a person from responsibility for their action by calling it an illness. This can be considered infantilizing in its removing of agency from the individual. It's a reason why forced hospitalization is so common.
Others might simply say that it is part of the plan of God that some would suffer and take their own lives. In this case, there is no blame as it is a rational assessment of one's own condition.
It would be hard to argue with someone in the concentration camps that their life was good. This did not, however, necessarily mean the abdication of faith, or belief, in God.
It is to be noted, that many who long for death do so under the belief that they are flawed. Many people see their regrets as proof that they are guilty and deserve punishment or death. It has also been said, that the role of Satan (literally, "The Adversary") is to be the prosecuting attorney in the court of Heaven. Satan reminds both God and the person of their sins and calls for their damnation. This is where the concept of the "Devil's Advocate" came from wherein someone argues against the appointment of a person to a position of power within the church. See again how faith in the mercy of God is given as a remedy for depression in such instances.
