Is it dangerous to cut with a rusty razor? I mean I washed it but I don't know. I'm probably still gonna do it, but like… I wanna know. The answers when I google are all different…

New ctb method: cut yourself with rusty razor and die of tetanus 😓 haha

… I haven't opened SaSu in a while. I'm not sure anymore if I'm posting this in the right topic place… but uh… I don't know. Hello again, SaSu!!

Edit: I don't care about the pain I just don't want to go to the hospital

Hi, it's not recommended at all. You'll probably just end up in the hospital.

Do you want to use a razor for ctb or self harm ? In both cases it's not a good idea. Take care

I use it for self harm. I just unscrewed it from an old sharpener I found. Thank you, though

It wouldn't be pleasant to get an infection in a wound. They're quite painful (they swell, drain fluid, etc.) and take much longer to heal, plus you'll need medical attention if that happens.

Make sure the object you use is always in good condition and clean. Much better if it is disposable (single-use)

To be honest I don't care about the pain as much as I care about the tedious process of going to the hospital

Yeah please don't, it will probably get infected. I personally get those packs of blades meant to go in the razors you can change the blade out on. The biggest thing with sh is that it is a coping mechanism (albeit not a good one long term) and in order to keep it as a coping mechanism harm reduction is a must. Use clean sanitized tools, clean the area of skin beforehand, clean the area afterwards with soap and water, and bandage/cover it in some way depending how bad the wounds are to keep dirt and bacteria out. It's not ctb what happens afterwards matters and infections are terrible plus there's always the possibility of being put in inpatient if the hospital thinks you're at risk.

Please don't - I don't think you'd get Tetanus but a general infection worst case antibiotic-resistant. It can form pus-filled blisters at the wound and lead to sepsis. I had this when I was young and it slowly climbed up my arm.

Please don't use a rusty razor. Double edged razor blades are very cheap and each one costs 10 to 20 cents. It's possible you might not be able to get any for some reason but if you can, there's no reason to risk tetanus for less than a quarter.

I would, but I still live with my family all of whom are aware of my debilitating self-harm addiction. I was born a girl (I am transmasc), so despite the fact that I'm 21 they are still reluctant to let me go and they keep an eye on me because I have crippling mental illness. It's the home version of suicide watch.

It probably wouldn't help at that point but does snapping a rubber band on your wrist still do anything for you? That shouldn't be too difficult to get your hands on I hope

My box knife blades are starting to get rusty but I haven't been bothered to replace them yet and my arm is fine...I think so I guess it depends on the general environment too like where the blades have been. Either that or I'm lucky idk.

Nope, I have a high pain tolerance so a rubber band just doesn't feel like much honestly. Thanks for the suggestion, though

you already are aware that it's a bad idea. if you're going to do it anyways, just clean the wounds after and keep up with them so they don't get infected. first sign of something not healing as it should, go seek medical attention. be safe 💚

Bad idea. New ones are cheaper than a trip to the hospital.
