rope diameter (Someone help!!!)

Are thinner ropes better? Is the force distributed over a smaller surface area, pressing harder into the neck?

I'm no expert, but thin ropes will probably cut deeper and therefore be more painful. There is also a chance they would behead you if the fall was big. I would stick to normal sized rope.
