Rope alternatives

I don't have any rope avaliable and all of it is sold out near me. I was wondering if something like a thick cable or charger wire would work if it could hold me. Also where would I even tie it?

Charger cord is not strong enough to hold an adult humans body weight. You actually need double your body weight on the ligature to account for the thrashing that happens as your body dies.

I've seen people use belts, exercise bands, scarves etc. Rope isn't always necessary.

I used 2 leather belts attached to each other, one with a loop for my head and the other to secure to whatever I wanted to secure it to. This was a long time ago, and the belts I used back then have since worn out but it's not difficult to get my hands on a couple more in the near future

Thanks for the suggestion but I live in the middle of nowhere and the only post I get is the local mailman cause nobody else can be asked to drive so far
