Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

How can we tell if any of our posts and/or replies get removed by the moderators? Do we get a notification about the removal from them every time? Or can some things be removed by them without notifying us? I only ask because I can't find the last post I made and I honestly don't remember if I deleted it myself or if it was silently removed by a moderator.

Most of the time you don't get a notice... or at least I haven't. I had a post removed one time where I got a notification about it... another time I had a post removed and I accidentally realized it and I had to ask a moderator about it to find out why it was deleted.

Also... you might not be moderated for a violation on your part... but if they delete a thread (has happened multiple times since I've been here) and you posted in that thread, then all your posts in that thread disappear. Only time I really notice is when a bunch happens at one time and I notice my post count has decreased significantly. If it is just 1 or 2 deleted then who knows how many times I didn't even notice that a post or thread was gone.

I'm talking more specifically about a post (not a reply) I made. I posted a short YouTube video of a doctor assisted suicide scene from a movie. But my brain isn't as good as it used to be so I can't remember if I deleted it or if it was removed as I didn't get a notification about a removal. It's not really a big deal to me. But I just wondered about the removal process.

I just looked quickly at your post history... is this the post you are talking abut? You replied in a thread with this link to a video from Soylent Green:

I see Dejected answered your query. If you want to find other old posts of yours in future- if you click on your username in a thread and then, click on messages- they will be listed there.

Usually there is a notification, however it's not always the case... I felt like a thread was shorter than before, checked a saved page (I save my replies because I've seen postcount drop without me deleting posts) and found one of my posts removed without notification (I nearly overwrote the saved page but some luck I didn't!).

I was able to file a ticket and a moderator told me it was removed due to being off-topic. I don't like not being notified and will be more careful saving pages from now on.

Ofc, there are cases where the original thread is removed by the author (or even a mod), and rather than just saying [deleted] and letting the replies be (like reddit), the replies get removed too.
