Anyone else have RSD? I am certain I have it. It is very common among those with ADHD and Autism, I have ADHD for sure but might possibly also have Autism. It is a huge big part of why I feel suicidal. Every little thing is intolerable and seems to serve as proof to me that I am unworthy in every possible way. My mind is constantly analyzing every situation for rejection and I always find it.

Yes and diagnosed ADHD here. To me at least it's the worst part about ADHD. I think I'd get along ok with the other symptoms, but this shit makes life intolerable sometimes. Do you have any strats to cope with it or calm it down?

I could have wrote this myself down to every word.
Yes it sucks big time and is the reason nothing romantic worked for me anymore for the past few years. And even outside of that it's hard to interact with people.

No, but I knew someone with it & I had a front row seat to see what it's like. Things improved for them after they finally started taking antidepressants.

Its TOTALLY the worst part! Someone who loves themselves can accept themselves despite their flaws, RSD makes it pretty damn hard. I really wish I had some tips for you. When Ibwas actually trying to get better, doing a fucj t9n pf self compassion and self love work did kind of help, like affirmations, self love meditation, self care and the like were helpful, but stopped being helpful if I stopped doing it.

Fuck, those never worked on me for the past 10 years (with pauses in between). Taking my 15th or so now right now, first time it's an SNRI and no SSRI. So I guess either they find one that works soon or I'm actually fucked.
Do you happen to know what exact substance was the one that actually helped them?

That really sucks that its been so tough on you and your social and love life. Putting yourself out there is hard even if you want the connection.

I'm sorry, at that point my view was from a bit farther back, I do not know. But try to remember that if you want to see a smiling reflection in the mirror, you could sit there forever & you will never see it… unless you smile first. The world is the same way. It tends to reflect back the energy we put out, so try to be what you'd like to get reflected back to you ❤️‍🩹.

Yeah I haven't really been able anymore because of course I got rejected, a lot. Really did wonders on my disability to even try anymore as you probably know from personal experience yourself 🤐

It definitely plays a huge part in my suicidality as well. I gotta ask tho what you mean by "every litte thing is intolerable" in the context of RSD, or was that more about ADHD? The rest makes again perfect sense for me as this is at this point exactly the reason why I don't even try anything with people or women anymore.

Well, thanks anyway for the kind words and the advice. It just becomes so freaking hard when you're depressed like I am at this point, but I'll try when I hopefully get stabilised a bit during further treatment.

Its both. The ADHD causes the RSD. I meant that every interaction with another human makes me analyze for rejection, and any situation I am in triggers the same feeling. Like, I have a boring conversation with a friend and then ruminate on if they actually hate me or something. Or, I don't hit a metric at work and Instantly feel like a failure.

Can you elaborate, any special therapist or just normal KBT?

Interesting.
I have it a lot less when I don't have any romantic or sexual interest, but still a thing with other people, too. I don't even analyse I just assume I will be rejected per default, I guess. For me it's mostly developed due to experiences tho, which is also why it's developed with the latter lately in particular.
Also I don't assume they hate me necessarily, just that they like other people better, more like: I'm not enough (or too much), rather than outright terrible.
Perfectionism at work (and else wise) is also a thing for me, although I never thought about whether these 2 could be related somehow...

I think it can manifest in different ways and it probably also depends on current mood state as well. I could certainly see those things being connected!
