No, I don't believe in that rather I believe death to be peaceful, permanent non-existence where all is finally gone and forgotten about and I'd just always prefer to not exist than be burdened with this cruel, futile existence I personally always saw as such a terrible mistake. To me existence truly is an abomination that just causes so much cruelty, harm and suffering until death takes away all anyway, the fact that this existence was even imposed at all really is the most dreadful tragedy to me, I just wish I was never forced to suffer more than anything.
No, if reincarnation is real it should be the souls choice to come back and some say we have totally different lives each lifetime . I would probably just keep killing myself
If it's true you'll have no memory of anything, you'll be a completely different being so not sure if you can even call this a reincarnation. It's the continuation of subjective experience, to be something else.

Doesn't need to be a person. We just got lucky (or unlucky depending on who you ask). We could've easily been any other sentient life or imo living thing like a plant.

No i'm not afraid of reincarnation nor an afterlife because i don't believe that reincarnation is possible.
this extreme nightmare called a life for me will end forever once i die , 1 micro-second after my brain dies i will never have to suffer extremely ever again for all eternity.
i exist only in my brain . 1 micro second after my brain dies i will cease to exist forever .
to me non-existence forever is the ultimate bliss = never any chance of extreme suffering nor unending constant unbearable pain. only eternal non-existence gurantees never suffering so badly it's trillion times worse than you can imagine. while a human or other sentient animal is alive or conscious there is always the chance of unending constant extreme suffering .
i guess most humans don't realize how bad pain or suffering can get especially non-suicidal people . if there were a 1% chance of falling into a trap 1/1000 as bad of the worst pain or worst suffering i would never want to exist. to prevent humans from seeking relief or safety or prevention from such extreme suffering and excruciating pain is the ultimate evil . and that is many humans and this world the one who control the world have made every guaranteed way of escaping extreme torture into crimes. they made every guaranteed suicide method a crime . so people suffering extreme torture or those who know they will can't escape extreme torture.
i am software running on my brain. after my brain dies the software simulation can never be run again. it's similar to an ai model running locally on a laptop. you turn the latptop off (sleeping) the model doesn't exist. when i go to sleep i don't exist especially in dreamless sleep. turn the latop on and if the model can think. if you shoot the latptop or my brain with a shotgun that software can never run again.
What i am is just models that my brain creates, models of what my brain thinks i am , and what the environment or whatever the brain is paying attention to . a human can think about only one thing at a time.
The purpose of the attention schema theory is to explain how an information-processing device, the brain, arrives at the claim that it possesses a non-physic...

Reincarnation is the literal definition of hell for me. Starting over with a life that could be worse than my current one. Having to learn how to live again and being forced into it over and over again.... Nope.

I don't believe in it. I'll be as I'll be, dirt in the earth. And that'll just be as it is period. Like reaching infinite, incompressible in any way for lack of any conscious experience
In the topic of reincarnation i would absolutely hate the idea of a loop even if you can change everything, but i don't mind reincarnating into someone or something is kinda like cease of exist because you wouldn't know who you were in past lives
What's the point of eternal recurrence? Reincarnation is fine if you experience different things. What's the point of repeating same things indefinitely?
Doesn't the bible teach Jesus coming back to earth to judge and if you've followed the laws, diets etc. you will be in his kingdom. If your dead but you followed with faith you will be brought back to life to live in the new kingdom, one could argue that's reincarnation.

If I am reincarnated, I'm most likely to try and commit suicide again. If only I could remember my past life...
I won't call it a reincarnation but I can understand what you mean.
We Christians doesn't need to follow the laws and diet commands from the Old Testament. Jesus came to fulfill the law.
You can interpret the Holy Bible in many ways. But for me as an evangelical lutheran I believe we are saved by grace alone - not by deeds.
It's one of my biggest concerns with ctb. I do believe reincarnation is a strong possibility as it just makes the most sense to me but it isn't exactly a comforting thought like it would be a lot easier to just believe in peace after death...being stuck in samsara seems like a fucking prison sometimes. You don't even need to believe in a hell if you believe in an endless loop. I wish I could take these memories with me in the next life but with it would come all the pain. Maybe a redo is exactly what I need...like someone else said above it wouldn't be so bad if I had better instincts in my next life or knew how to cope better....or maybe it's just going to end up being the exact same shit I'm in now. If we are just doomed to repeat the same lessons each time til we get it right then like...does that mean everything I'm trying to escape from now is just waiting for me in the next life? What if it's even worse than before? What if I'm not a good person and ctb is just guaranteeing an even lower life form when I return? ....yeah you could say it's something I worry about often.
Yeah that's dark...and I thought I had it bad believing in reincarnation. How do you deal with wanting to ctb as a Christian as Christian doctrine is pretty clear on the fact that suicide automatically leads to eternal damnation? Or does your denomination believe in something different?

I mean it seems extremely sadistic and f***** up that we aren't able to remember past lessons if we're to make any progress in any reincarnation moving forward. It's pretty f****** horrifying... either reincarnation hopefully things get better, or total darkness like before we were born. Either way sucks, this life has been hell. It'll be over soon. I hope everyone finds a better way than I have to choose.
I don't believe in reincarnation. Definitely not afraid of it, presumably we don't remember anything anyway.
But the idea of how consciousness is possible is strange to be. It's fascinating that at some point you just randomly start to exist and then.at some point cease to exist. It seems possible that it (consciousness) would "magically" transfer to somewhere else. I can't imagine how consciousness is possible, but here we are.

Yeah like we don't consciously remember the lessons but I feel that our soul remembers at least to an extent otherwise there would never be any progress. My fear is that I won't remember because I never ACTUALLY figured the lesson out this time lol

Well some spiritualists say we arent suppose to remember since every life is different and has different lessons. Some lives more challenging than others. One life you might be an abuser, another life rich and famous, next one poor ect. Im not coming back mentally ill again damnit
