  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Anyone from the UK knows that we have a little (okay not so little) heatwave going on where temperatures are at 36/37 degrees up to 40., but what is quite peculiar is over the past three days there has been this trend of drownings, at least six (and now more) have been reported now.

Ages ranging from 13 right up to 70 year olds and as I write this a recent man in his 20's had just been found.

There have been 13 reported deaths recorded so far in the heatwave in general.

In most peoples mind, people go into pools, seas whatever to cool off in the summer, some things can go wrong such as underestimating how deep it is, tides dragging people out to sea etc.

Do you think heat makes drowning easier or worse? In my CTB mind I always thought (deliberate) drowning was quite hard.

What do you think?

I think that deliberate drowning will always be difficult no matter what, because of the SI. I have thought about this method but I doubt I would be able to go through with it. I'm not sure if the heat makes drowning easier or not, I just think that maybe there is a trend of drownings because some people spend more time in water when the weather is warm. Drowning does sound like a horrifying way to go but I do envy those who are gone, they are free from all suffering.

I think it's easier to get into thermal shock or something.

I would bet those drowning were just accidental. There are lots of accidental drownings each year. Of course, no one can ever know for sure. The more people that are in the water, the more drownings there will be. It's really that simple.

Look how it is here in the US with guns. The more guns that are in circulation, the more gun deaths there will be. We have the most, by far, guns and gun deaths.
