Anyone from the UK knows that we have a little (okay not so little) heatwave going on where temperatures are at 36/37 degrees up to 40., but what is quite peculiar is over the past three days there has been this trend of drownings, at least six (and now more) have been reported now.
Ages ranging from 13 right up to 70 year olds and as I write this a recent man in his 20's had just been found.
There have been 13 reported deaths recorded so far in the heatwave in general.
In most peoples mind, people go into pools, seas whatever to cool off in the summer, some things can go wrong such as underestimating how deep it is, tides dragging people out to sea etc.
Do you think heat makes drowning easier or worse? In my CTB mind I always thought (deliberate) drowning was quite hard.
What do you think?
