I could even imagine it's because the pro lifer groups are down. Ironically maybe their engagement was like advertisement for this website...if there are less prolifers who read this forum there is less traffic and maybe a worse ranked website on the internet but that's just a theory

Also, since the story with the F* and others, users are weighting their words a little more. Some of us have been molested by them (I don't know what happened exactly).
Also, they gave such an advertisement that more new young ppl aware of it came. I just want to say, please take care of you, find a job, leave the house of your parents (in case of abusive parents) if you can afford it, reach help in mental health but not only, reach social workers if you have them in your area.
I am glad to have done it when I was young.
I am not minimising what you feel because what we feel and its intensity doesn't depends on age. I know well how we can fall in a spiral in which the only issue is death. Just take care of you.

when I first joined in April 2019 (second account here) it was busy, I dug in, I came looking for support, to find ways to ctb, and to just chat with like minded people, over the last year, those people, (many of) have slowly faded from this forum, some from life.
Its not the same any more, I miss the banter the light heartiness's in a dark time, I pop on occasionally but as someone else has said, a lot of the posts now are just constant repeats, there's also been a few very heated topic's/thread's that have put me off being here, (felt unwelcome)
I still want to ctb, I know my path, here now is just a place that I know I can use as I wish or see fit too. But to be fully part of it here, is no longer an option for me

It's possible that a domain with .org isn't indexed as high as one with .com. So fewer people find this site, combined with more strict sign up procedures and longer wait times.

I hope you're not referring to the thread about spirituality/materialism, I'm sorry if I offended some people.

I just find it interesting to debate about philosophy on a forum whose main subject is death and suicide.

As I mentioned it earlier, the number of members keeps increasing (we're almost 20,000) so I'm not sure saying there is less traffic is accurate.

I'd rather say the opposite, tbh.
A few of the old regulars left and formed their own group. Why? Because of things that happened.
I don't know what people consider "old regulars" but personally I still find the new members adorable.
Saying the opposite is mostly a cognitive biais which consists in idealising the past.

I suspect that the reason could be quite simple: sometimes the URL simply changes and thus people aren't able to find the forum anymore. Maybe some of them lose access to their accounts because they lost their passwords, were caught or just because they simply CTB'd and can't answer anymore.

Reasons might be the good weather, the break/end of the covid pandemic. ... What do you think?
I'd say this is it: the Biden-19 scamdemic (sorry!) is coming to an end, things are reopening, and social gatherings are coming back. So the people who originally planned to CTB last year due to social isolation---like myself, hence my name---no longer have a reason to do so. Either that, or they joined anti-quarantine right-wing groups who defy the lockdowns, thus bringing back social gatherings for themselves. So they either stop visiting this site altogether or do so only sporadically.

That's true as well. When our URL changed from SS.com to S-S.org and some members missed the notification e-mail, they simply stopped coming to this site, thinking their information was captured by the police. So they decided to seek their own CTB methods without SS.

What's a " Lockdown " ?
It's when the government, state or national, deliberately creates social isolation. Most commonly by closing public entertainment venues, like restaurants, theaters, and even city parks, But also by making it illegal to host social gatherings in private homes or even go for a walk with friends in city streets. In other words, you are literally "locked down" alone in your home, like in an actual prison.

I lived like that for two months last year, and almost CTB'ed. The only thing that saved my life was joining a right-wing anti-quarantine group. One night of nonstop hugging, dancing, and company of real people in real life made me want to at least delay CTB'ing. I still plan to keep my membership active, in case my state tries this crap again in 2024 (the next election).

Wow. Yeah here in the USA most people realized Covid was a scam. Just the sheep and the liberal media pushed the narrative. Funny how no one died of the flu last year. For the most part, it was business as usual.

Ironically, I haven't been active on here because the current lack of access to N and the fact that CTB seems to be increasingly achievable now only with either great expense, anguish, fear or agony means that reading anything about how I might find a peaceful end (and why this is getting less likely as meddling cretins do all they can to make ending my own life as painful as possible) just makes me even more depressed.

My state was most certainly NOT business as usual. It had one of America's longest lockdowns, lasting 2.5 months. And the social isolation, never mind the lack of entertainment options that don't involve a computer screen, killed my will to live. That's when I joined this site, hoping to die. I also planned to mail an angry suicide letter to my state legislatures the day before I CTB'ed.

It's ironic how the only thing that saved my life was attending illegal social gatherings with a group whose politics I never thought I'd embrace in a million years. Now I'm a hard-right conservative. I have a hunch you live in a red state; you're a lucky man/woman. I myself drove to a red state twice during my state's lockdown: once to get a haircut, another time for a road trip with new friends.

I prefer it the way it is now. I haven't noticed it being slower.
I have been in and ouf of here enough to state my opinion that it was worse in the past. There was so much bullshit and posturing going on that I suspect many people left because of it. I know that I left the first time because the inauthenticity of leading members made me feel more lonely and isolated right here in SS. Some members, sadly now gone, were superb at exposing people using multiple profiles and/or staging phony suicide attempts right in the chat room. Does that go on now? Probably but I just haven't noticed it like in the past.
Does my opinion seem a half truth to some of those reading this? Fair enough. You keep your half and I'll keep mine.

I've noticed alot less traffic on the BS posts made by the same people over and over. They have resorted to messaging themselves, in their own little groups, it pretty obvious to see. there always liking each others comments for starters!!! now it means people aren't bothering with these people or taking notice of them, people will be reading stuff instead and researching. But thats a good thing!!.

I agree alot of genuine members have CTB unfortunately, I gained alot of info from many of them and am very grateful i got to speak with many of them, people were really helpful and knowledgable then.

There's alot less traffic on the BS new threads that are made everyday. I see people have become wise to it. Rather funny watching all these retards comment between each other!!!!

I mean they set up fake profiles, pretend to have illnesses/conditions, talk between each others fake profiles on threads they make because no1 else is interested in them lmao. I mean they might aswell order some SN realistically, stop pretending you don't want it really, you can join your mates!!!

I mean really if thats what a normal, good life looks like.then i'm glad i'm suicidal, at least then i don't have to PRETEND i'm normal!!!

I love seeing people who joined like a week ago/this week, bumping all the old sn/n threads from wayway back.

Rarely the questions they ask gets a good toppic going but I it's now like 99% of them literally just commenting 'pm me too'

Love how most of these users sign up with what seems like their legit real names also lol

No one was better at shutting down the worst offenders than Chinaski and sadly he is long gone. But even were he to return he could not stop
the bloody nonsense that goes on here very day. The chat room should have been closed years ago and it should be closed tomorrow. The same fakers who basically run it are all over the threads with their BS. I thank God that I learned to be incredibly careful years ago. If I decide to CBT
I sure as Hell wouldn't feel the need to make an announcement about on this shit site. .

I like how some of the old 'profiles' pop back up, people that joined back in 2018, 2019 and are asking basic questions that have been answered thousands of times before. i mean you would expect someone who has joined that long ago to have had chance to read the 'sticky's and have some knowledge..... i joined 3 years ago and i constantly post questioning things, an i haven't had time to read the threads in all that time, yeah ok.

yeah it was mentioned on another thread about members adding there name at the end of a post they make, god they look so real when they do that. makes me believe everything they say lol

I might post a picture of 'myself' so people believe i'm a real person. or maybe no1 is that fucking stupid, that they would do that and leave themselves open to being doxxed!!

I agree about being careful and luckily there are plenty of threads that were made by genuine members to help others, these people have also CTB using the methods available. I can't say i'm interested in making an announcement when i am leaving either, I mean as much as you will have genuine members commenting you will also have the fake people commenting, can't say I want that kind of attention personally. but each to their own, what others decide is upto them.

I think it has got worse than it was when i first joined. but i agree you still used to get the BS threads. i would imagine people just choose to ignore them nowadays. I mean it doesn't really help the people that want to shut down the site, if anyone signed in to check the site out and read things like.......

I'm going to use 15 methods at once, while eating the entire contents of a pharmacy and do a handstand aswell, they're probably going to just laugh and think yeah that sites dead serious, so its helpful in that way lmao.(i do love how they always do things to help indirectly without noticing). I mean they question the methods, it just means more people post about the correct way to do something lol, and it gets rather easy to see who the people are who know what they are talking about.

That's because 2020 was the pLandemic year. The Fauci-19 lockdowns made many people suicidal, myself including. So they joined this site, hoping to CTB. Some are on The Bus now. Some just waited it out. Others found people willing to socialize despite the pLandemic, like me; I joined a radical political group that saw through the lies and didn't care about "social distancing". But today, as the people are waking up to the pLandemic lies. and the politicians are giving up on controlling the population, there's less "need" for The Bus than there was 2 years ago.

i agree that lockdowns worked favourably for forum activity, although not a cause for fond reminiscence

moreso that, of said activity, we also had certain members that year who had a lot of perspective to give to the community, GPE being an obvious example but also the notable yet often non-serious posters who could lighten the mood (and the afterz was conceived in 2020, so /thread)

I'm not sure if the quality of care/posts and responses has gone down causing less traffic or if some people joining are here for a method only because they already have their mind made up. Another thing might be, and I've noticed it too with this being my 3rd year on here(had an old account I forgot), the community has definitely changed. I'm not sure if it's trolls but the NYT posting that article and shining light onto this site kind of made me reconsider what I post and say. I do feel a little bit more unsafe and at risk because of it all however nobody else will listen, they would rather us just kill ourselves in silence so it doesn't disturb them:,) What they fail to realize is this site has made me reconsider suicide far more often then the looney bin ever has.
