Help Questions about PSH

I'm not sure if I plan on going through with it yet, but for some reason having a plan is oddly comforting to me. Partial seems to be the best way I can get my hands on; I have two questions.

Firstly, does the knot I use matter or will any slip knot work fine? If not which do you guys recommend? Secondly, if someone finds me and saves me what are the chances that I would have severe brain damage as a result? I'd assume it depends on when they find me, what are the chances at 5 minutes? 10 minutes? 15? Etc. How long exactly do I need to do it before I ctb?

partial is the most fastest way but it's highly difficult and tend to lead to failed attempt

What is typically the cause of failure? I don't wanna do full because I don't want to feel any sort of pain or dread
